OP if you’re willing to save your hair, better to start real treatment rather than topical horse c*m so you dont spend years thinking you’re fighting hair loss while you’re actually loosing ground.

Valid enough point. Will i take finasteride at some point? I dont know yet, i dont like the stuff and from what i have read i may be a poor responder. If i was 20 and it was happening fast i would be a lot more worried.

You have to know that hair loss almost always gets worse, especially since your family history isnt great. finasteride is a PREVENTATIVE treatment. Either take it early in the game or dont bother at all.

I understand what you are saying.

What is your honest opinion on my hair right now?

I must say that I value hair a lot, so my answer will be biased.

As you highlighted in an earlier photo, your hair line is thinning and you are already NW2-3.
I say go for it. Start taking finasteride and be consistent. Give it at least two years. Do not read posts about the horror stories about finasteride’s side effects. They are very rare and most people exaggerate a lot. Many that got “permanent” sides already have underlying conditions and factors that would have lead to unfavorable consequences.
Once you take it you’ll feel quite the opposite. You’ll be comforted by the idea that you are actually using effective treatment to fight hair loss.

Men lose their hair as they get older. They also get ED as they get older. Getting ED is an insult to a man's masculinity. Men are in denial about the real cause of their ED so they blame it on a drug they've been on for years without any issue. Men are stupid.

Lmao, the mental gymnastics this one has for a f*****g hormonal pill, unbelievable lmao

Thanks just went and took some fresh pictures with my hair combed back. About 1 3/4 inches long. As wet as i could get.

Amazing how light, wetness and length can make things looks better or worse. If hair doesnt lie straight it makes it look like balding. Just that left hand edge as always.

Actually surprised how good it looks though!

Great hairline but diffused thinning. You need to get on finasteride (use topical) asap especially given family history of hair loss.

All over or just in the corners?

You may be right of course but i see no evidence of thinning apart from one corner. Im not shedding much and my hair is like fur when its dry.

Its always possible i suppose. Currently undetectable to me though.

All my life i felt like the guy who was going bald. I expected to be bald by now. But i have more hair than anyone in my close family had at the same age.

Heres one of my (double!) crown. Out side in the shade. Dry hair.

Your'e fine, especially for 35 years old guy.
Yes - you have a little bit thinning on the temples but the rest is completely fine (based on what I can see in the pics).
Anyway, I heard that after the age of 35 the dht production in the body decrease every year so I don't think you'll be bald in even 10 years, but yes you probably gonna lose some ground.
You can use finasteride as a preventive step to avoid further hairline receding

Thanks. My crown has always been solid. I dont actually think i will lose it. Even my nw6 old man has some hair in his crown.

The temple corners were always going to be the danger points given my genetics. I dont think i have thinning apart from there. Especially the left.

Actually cant believe i got this far with what i have!

Bump for opinions one last time. I will try zix for six months and will update on progress. If it is worse i will have to decide if i go the finasteride route or just buzz it when its too bad.

I dug out some pictures and found pictures of my paternal uncle. He had what looked like a decent head of hair albeit receded at 40 but ended up balder than my father so not out of the woods yet.

2 years later posting a few new pics. Still not taking finasteride even though I think I'm going to be forced to if I want to keep my hair.

Thinning inwards from the left temple has gotten a bit worse. Still very little on my right side. Central forelock is still thick, so is crown and top. If I was to guess I'm heading for nw4 with island at the front in the next 10 years if I do nothing.

Now doing better than maternal grandfather and way better than father at 36 who was nw5.

Opinions welcome

I've been slowly thinning inwards for the past 8 to 10 years. I'm assuming I have fairly slow hairloss given how long it's taking. Guess I've left it as long as I can, didn't want to take finasteride but seems the only chance.

How well do people my age respond?
