How long before spironolactone starts working?

I've heard that usually people have to wait a couple of years to see the full results of finasteride. Is this the same as spironolactone? I've been using it around a month and am not sure whether this is sufficient time to see any results. I would like someone to give me an estimate so that i wont have to waste time and just jump on finasteride

are you taking oral spironolactone? if it is topical you will probably never see results because it is too weak to stop it on its own

I saw some mild results from topical spironolactone. I like it. I'm using it addition to a good few others things though.

I'm almost 3 months in now. My temples have defiantly improved slightly since adding it.

As pointed out by zzzzz, topical spironolactone is a very weak anti-androgen and it is unlikely to work as a stand-alone treatment. As far as I'm aware, it is not even proven yet that it even works at all as an Androgenetic Alopecia treatment. As for oral spironolactone, it is very dangerous and can have some very serious side-effects. You need to start using finasteride if you really are serious about winning the battle against Androgenetic Alopecia. Until a successful topical anti-androgen eventually comes out (and yes, it would have to be WAY more powerful than the likes of spironolactone), the only thing we have that actually really does work for hair loss is finasteride or dutasteride. Nothing else really works in all honesty. spironolactone (along with all the rest of that topical stuff) is in my opinion a big waste of your time and money. My advice is to stick with what actually works. In other words, finasteride.

topical spironolactone did nada for me and I used it as directed for like 6 months. It did make my hair extra greasy and thin looking not to mention smell. Not really a fun thing to use when it doesnt work anyway and it made my hairline where I used it itch a lot more than normal probably because it was not getting absorbed properly even though I thought I rubbed it in pretty good.
I think the guys that make topical spironolactone should hunt for other vehicles because I think a better vehicle and it might work a lot better. spironolactone might be strong enough, but the vehicle has to work perfectly or it might not work at all
What vehicle does it use right now?
