Honestly, Why Are People Posting Threads Here Asking If They Are Balding When Clearly They Are Not?

I've seen lots of threads here from teens to mid 20's asking

"Am I balding?"
"Is this male pattern baldness?"
"Is my hair thinning"
"Does my hair look normal?"

And then they attach pics like this:

I mean seriously. I swear every day there are guys who posts threads exactly like this. I don't know if they are trolling or making balding guys here feel jealous and insecure. For real, this has gotta stop lol.

If your hair doesn't look like this...

Then you don't have male pattern baldness, you're not balding, you're just paranoid.

Lol. This just has to happen. Peace guys

people tend to judge themselves a lot more harshly than they would other people so they convince themselves they see something that isn't actually there. neurosis, paranoia and anxiety in the works.

You actually start to bald when you have a full head of hair - state the obvious I know.

A dermatoscope will pick up any shaft variability that the naked eye can’t see.

I know where you’re coming from regarding the posts though.

Sorry guys for the rant. I think there's a bit of sarcasm in my thread, but yeah for me I just find it offensive when basing on the pic, they are clearly no male pattern baldness in their genes. You know me, I give opinions and help for those who need it. I just can't stand seeing another thread like that. Idk, maybe I'm just having a bad day in general.

What you are saying is true mate, but some people want to catch it early or are on the younger side , experiencing mild/moderate hairloss. Personally i am 25, no one in public can ever notice my hairloss, but i can. My genetics dont help ease my mind either, so whereas there are alot of people here that might be “paranoid” or in the beginning stages of male pattern baldness, in most situations it is justified, unless they are literally trolling ofcourse lol.

The way i see it is, that it is alot better to seek help when it is in its early stages, be it Norwood 2 or 3, than when you are literally balding alot. For that reason i do not dismiss anyone here who posts a picture with a “full head of hair” , we are brothers in arms (as far as male pattern baldness is concerned), some of the younger users might not have as significant hairloss as us but they might still be worried.

In short, i do understand where you are coming from because when i see threads of kids posting pics with a full head of hair, it does make me think lol, but you never know , they might be on the highway to Norwood 6

When I first posted on here a year ago, everyone kept on saying I Have 0 hairloss and to stops freaking out. 1 year later, I am diffusing hard in a NW6 pattern while losing 300+ hairs per day. It all starts somewhere and if you are actually noticing big changes in your hair you are probably in early stages of starting some kind of hairloss.

Anxiety and paranoia due to social media is on the rise. People are going to question their looks now more than ever. And they will come to all types of forums for validation. Before we used to compare ourselves to actors. Now we compare ourself to top tier genetics of nobodies who post their photos on social media. If you have model looks you can become a star now over night. For men, if they have a great physique, model looks, and great hair, they will become very popular quickly. Also people with natural low density think they might be going bald.

You have two extremes here, and there is plenty of room in between these where you might still have male pattern baldness. There is no harm in asking except apparently offending the big time baldies that like to hang out at the high norwood levels. Someone doesnt have male pattern baldness than no harm done, but people want to be extra cautious because once its gone its gone. You cant get it back

I'm guessing when someone first notices a change, they are in such panic mode that they are desperate for "experienced balding guys" to give them a pat on the head and say "There there now! Everything is going to be alright!" and proceed to assure them that there is nothing wrong. Which a lot of times there isn't, and that soul can carry on in life without the hell of being obsessed...
