Granted, I got on finasteride at the first sign of recession.
well GRANTED, but I've been steadily losing hair for 12 years and Im 30 now. I've been on Propecia for 9 months and minoxidil for 2 mos. This combo is impressing the hell out of me with its effectiveness on the hairline. One thing I want to comment on is, you know the hair on the side of the head right above the ears? Know how it kind of pushes forward to the face like say Brad Pitt's hair does?
Well, for as long as I can remember, my hair in this area was always pretty much straight up to the hairline without that 'pointy' angle. This area has improved amazingly so far. Its no longer straight up and down, but looks just like Brad Pitt's, but still thinner at the moment, but there are plenty of dark hairs in the area to give the outline and impression, with TONS of vellus in this area.
On up around the hairline, things have improved alot as well. Hairline has definitely strengthened and hairs are darker and thicker. There is about a 1 and a half inch patch of very thick centimeter long vellus that is now light brown. I can honestly say that I also cannot remember having hair in this area AT ALL on my temples.
I have always had a triangular hairline that was receded on sides, but strong in the very front, by nature. It was always just my natural hairline. I'm not just regaining hair on my temples I recently lost, but I am cheating nature with a more rounded hairline that sits lower on my forehead. Now, a good portion of this may be vellus, but it is very thick and brown vellus. Im confident it'll turn terminal down the line. Im extremely pleased with what's going on in this area.
It's funny that im getting tons of response on the hairline and temples and less results on the crown. It was my worst area and very thin. Maybe this iswhy im not noticing an amazing response in this area since it was SO thin and was my main area of concern. However, it's probablly improving at the same rate as it has definitley thickened up and looks a good bit better.
Im also shedding virtually NO hairs at all.
This is just a reminder that yes! Propecia and minoxodil CAN work wonders on the hairline AND it doesn't matter if the hair was lost recently, 12 years ago, and in my case, gaining hair on my head in places that I have NEVER had. Just amazing..
