Hair worries - irrational or not?

Hey there. I suffer from OCD, so I dunno whether this is contributing to all this worry, but, yesterday I was with my cousin, and we were looking at some pictures and stuff of when we went on holiday. On one of the pictures I was in a brightly lit room, and the back of my head is on view in the photo, and he said it looked like there was a bald spot. This triggered off a load of worry and concern, and he told me that it was just the light, but I wasn't convinced, so I came home and asked my mum. She said that it was just the light. Still, not convinced, I took a load of pictures of my crown (as you'll soon see). I asked my mum about my crown and stuff again, and she said that my hair and crown is exactly the same now as it has always been. I'm still not convinced, hence me posting here. As I said before, I've taken a lot of various photographs of my crown, and there's a few photo's that I found on Facebook that have now started me worrying.

In case anyone needs to know, my hair is very straight, but sticks out a lot. I always need to wear product.

Crown photos.

These were taken with a laptop camera, the screen being the light source. The first two were taken at night, the rest were taken in the day:

These were taken with a phone camera, the first one being taken from directly under a light:

I would have used a digital camera to take the pictures, but I haven’t a clue where they are in this house, lol.

Now on to the Facebook photo’s. These are being posted because, when my hair is short, because it’s so straight and thick, I need to wear gel/wax all the time, otherwise it sticks up and goes fluffy. It won’t really lie flat, so I tend to spike it up, or do it a bit ‘messy’. In some photo’s you can see in the middle area of my hair you can see my scalp through my hair. I dunno whether this is just because blonde and so fair (my scalp burns, that’s why it looks red/pink :/), whether it’s because it’s short and there’s product in, or if it’s something I should be worried about.

As you can see from the first pic, you can see my scalp through my hair. Its red cuz am in Spain and I think I’m burned on my scalp. I’m wearing wax in all of those pictures, though the first one is wax from the day before, so not really styled. The last pic my hair is a bit longer, but not as long as my hair is in the first set of pictures.

I made a collage of various haircuts, over the space of two years. I've highlighted another part that's worrying me. It appears in some of the images, and not in others.

Could somebody please tell me if there is anything for me to worry about regarding my hair, or is this just my OCD going into overdrive? I don't know whether am worrying over nothing :/.

Thanks.

Btw, I apologise for the huge post and amount of pictures, I’m just worried, and I hate it when I get this het up.

Good lawd, you weren't joking about the OCD were you? It looks fine to me, you're certainly overreacting.. even if it is the very beginning of hair loss, it's not the end of the world. You will have caught it very early and in all possibility will be able to stave it off for 10+ years.

But I personally think you are fine, just keep an eye on it (that means assess it every 2-3 months, not every 2-3 minutes)

I wouldn't read much into that little area you highlighted either, you see that a lot with people with a full head of hair
eg.

BDD/OCD in overdrive. I know exactly how you feel. You should not really worry too much about it but if you want to take some minor precautions seek a profession opinion from a hair transplant Doctor. I can totally understand how those areas you pointed out bother you as I have the same weak areas myself. However to obsess about it is not healthy but when you see so many men with super thick hair and no scalp showing you might find yourself worrying about something you cannot change. Some people just hit the genetic lottery for hair and some people don't. You have to accept your fate and try to find other qualities about yourself that shine more than others. So yes, worrying about hair obsessively is not too rational.

Lol, nope I wasn't joking about the OCD haha. I guess I am worrying about nothing. My mum says my crown has always been like that, it's just parted more because my hair is longer than usual.

... still it doesn't help when someone says to you (yesterday) why can you see your scalp through your hair (around the crown), and and asks if am gonna lose it. :/

I reckon I need to go see someone about my OCD again :/
