Hey all,I've noticed on some hairs that fall from my head that as you examine from root to tip that the thickness changes. I've had the typical thick at tip thin at root hairs plenty of times but some others have let's say, started off thin at the tip.. Then gradually gotten even thinner towards the root and all of a sudden it thickens out again at the root! Wtf is going on? It seems that the hair was miniaturizing then reversed the miniaturisation? You could say that is just treatments working but my hair is continuing to thin and recede so it can't be that. Has anyone got any ideas?

I used to but using any other shampoo exposes my hair for what it truly is ( thin ) so I stopped. I've never had inflammation or dandruff anyway so I don't think I need it.
Normally hair shaft is ellyptical, ...., maybe you round the hair fiber
That made no sense to me, can you elaborate please?

Could be male pattern baldness or maturity. Hard to say?

Meditation. Yoga. Exercise. Consider supplements like zinc. Eat foods with that. Lower stress. Cortisol stress hormone will exacerbate your loss.

From one fellow tripper to another, it's likely not that bad. Embrace the new you. Also, do what you can to mitigate your loss but, refrain from obsession.

I woke today with a cowlick. It makes my hair look stupid.

It’s nothing to worry about mate. This may sound weird but if you lightly pinch and pull your eyebrow hair you’ll pull a few out. These are about to shed anyways and what you’ll find is that these hairs thin towards to roots too. So my guess is that when your hair follicles begin the Catagen-telogen phase the hair may continue to grow but with less blood supply which causes them to grow slightly thinner.
Also if you examine hair on say your arms you’ll notice that they Vary in thickness. So just because you have a thinner hair on your head doesn’t mean to say it’s miniaturised.

I'm of the opinion that not much can be gleaned from obsessively over-analyzing every hair that falls out. Been there, done that. I don't even pay attention to shedding anymore and take more of a holistic approach. "Does my hair look good or not?"
