Hair system without shaving

Hi Guys,

This is my first post on the forums....
I am now 30 years old and started going bald around 22/23, I had my first hair transplant when I was 24 using the strip method and have had 2 FUE's since then. All in all I think I have had roughly 6000 grafts.
My problem is that my hair is now very thin looking with the grafts 2/3 and up to 5mm apart.
I use nanogen on a daily basis to help cover up this problem but it is getting to the stage where the hair is just to thin to give a decent looking coverage.
Donor hair is pretty much non existent due to previous surgeries and from what I have read biofibre looks like a no go.
This may well be a silly question, but here goes.....
Is there anywhere out there that can attach groups of 2 or 3 hairs (real or artificial) directly to the scalp to basically fill in the gaps that I have? My way of thinking is that if you can attach one large base to the scalp using adhesive, why cant you attach lots of little bases??? I understand that this may be time consuming and more expensive but surely there must be somewhere out there that can do this.
PS - I would just shave my head if it werent for the big smile across the back of it
& I would just wear a normal hair system if I did not play football every week in front of large crowds.

Thanks

this can't be done unfortuntley.....i myself am now looking at a hair system i am 32...if i were you i would go the hair system route....not saying it will be easy but there are professional footballers that wear wigs eg marco donodel who plays for napoli....antonio conte who manages juventus and steve simonsen who is the goalkeeper at sheff unt and stephen ireland tried 1 a few years back but less said about that one the better........i bet you wish you could go back to being 24 and not have transplant surgery.....i think transplant are awful and only give sparse coverage btw are you a proffesional footballer

Hi FIMG

Essentially what you are describing is hair extensions of the sort a lot of women have. They are usually attached to your existing hair rather than your scalp for longevity. There is no technical reason why they couldn't be attached to your scalp, but it is just not practical. Because your skin is shedding it's surface all the time, and because the attachment area for what you are describing would be so small, you would have to be at the hairdressers every few days getting your extensions put back in.

I agree with the previous poster though: no reason why you couldn't make a piece work in your situation. I am in touch with half-a-dozen very active guys who play rugby, do martial arts etc. and wear a piece very successfully. I myself am a serious competitive cyclist and I have no problems.

Thanks for your replies.
1st of all i'm not a professional footballer, although I wish I had their money!!
I had tried a system in the past but basically the f**ker took a lot of money of me and left me with what looked like roadkill on my head!! The thing didn't even stay on, although probably a different adhesive would have sorted that out!!
Yea I wish I had just bitten the bullet years ago and shaved what little I had left off!! I am now seriously considering shaving it all off and going to one of these Hair tattoo places to cover up the scar and maybe add a little on top. Although its pretty thin I have hair covering the whole head so if anyone did fancy a cheeky grope of my head they would feel the stubble.

Yeah, so many blokes on these hairloss forums have been taken for a ride by one of these Hair Club-type places, including me. They provide only wildly overpriced rugs. I think that is the main source of all the negativity about hairpieces here.

You have to realise that that is not the whole story. You can for a reasonable price (say US$250) get a super-lightweight gossamer-fine custom-fitted hairpiece which, when properly cut in and attached, is 99.9% undetectable. The secret is you need to do your own maintenance and take responsibility for your own hair. I have some photos of my own situation which I don't mind sharing with you if you PM me. I honestly think you will be impressed with what is out there for a reasonable price.

I can't say too much about the tattoo idea except be careful. One of my work colleagues had it done, and it looks like the ink smudged and went a bluish colour. It looks totally weird. But there may be good places and bad places.
