I am new to this HR world,

Can some one help me navigate the HR jargon?

What is the difference between
1.Lace Systems
2. Mono Systems
3 Skin systems

What are the different glues available?

How do we style the hair system without a stylist

Or should we always depend on expensive hairClub like companies?

Hi R@tir

What is the difference between
1.Lace Systems
2. Mono Systems

There are two kinds of base that you can have on a hair system: mesh or plastic film. Each comes in different grades of fineness and fragility. The finest grade of mesh is called "lace", itself subdivided into "Swiss lace" - the finest grade, and "French lace" - slightly less fine and a bit more robust. "Mono", short for monofilament, is the grade of mesh which is coarser and more hard-wearing than lace. Decent quality men's hair systems in the West are no longer being made with mono bases. It is still used in some developing countries.

"Skin" or "thinskin" is fine grade plastic film, which does in fact look quite like skin. It comes in various thicknesses. The coarser tougher version of skin is called "poly", short for polyurethane.

What are the different glues available?

There are literally hundreds of brands and formulae. Have a look at the glue section of the Hair Direct web shop for a very wide selection. I would say the most popular brands are Ghostbond, Ultrahold and Davlyn.

How do we style the hair system without a stylist

When you say 'style', do you mean getting the hair cut? You will need a stylist for that. You can either (1) use a salon which sells you the system and cuts it in, or (2) buy your system on-line and find a hair system salon who will cut it in for you (rare, but not wholly impossible, depending on where you are), or (3) buy your system on-line and find an ordinary barber or hair salon who will cut it in for you, or (4) buy your system on-line and get it cut in remotely on-line. Several places offer that service.

This is maybe a question for a stylist, but I will offer 2 thoughts. Unless you are going for a very definite undercut style, you want the hair system hair to blend into your remaining natural hair without an obvious line of demarcation, and you want it to continue blending after the natural hair has grown out. That blending requires a distinct technique which is particular to cutting hair systems. An ordinary barber giving an ordinary haircut will not work for a hair system.

The other tip is that, if you want to make your life as a wearer easier, particularly at the start, avoid scraped-back hairstyles where the hairline is permanently on public view. A semi-exposed but shaded hairline is better.
