Hi, not sure who i am talking to as never been on a forum before so bit weird. Anyway, I joined as I have been thinking more and more about my hair loss and considering a hair piece or wig, not sure what the difference is. I wake up every morning lately imagining a life with hair and then i worry about what people will say, but i think i can handle it, there seem to be a regular cost and also some bad press on companies out there and v real hair v synthetic etc, any advice good, bad and ugly, would help me please or experiences, just so unsure but still want it quite badly. any thoughts greatly welcome. thanks Craig.

The hair pieces is help your hair more long and more beautiful, it not to clip on hair, if you just begining loss you can buy hair piexes, if you loss a lot, I suggest you buy Full lace wigs, it's health and can help you cover your head, but it's very expensive, if you want to save money, the lace front wigs is the best choice. Maybe you should upload a photo then I can give you a better suggestion.

Yes its great wearing a hairsystem i wear poly base unit and have got a new swiss lace one to be cut this week. Im so much happier than before im hair was very thin and have been shaving my head for past 10 years so i fancied a change. Now i look much younger

Hair replacement is rather a daunting prospect, so don't worry; we have all been there. The good news is you can try it for not a vast sum of money, and if you don't like it you can put it in the trash, and no one will be any the wiser. My one piece of advice is to read all the info you can find on forums like these, and don't be tempted to try one of the so-called Hair Clubs. Most embittered anti-hair replacement people on these forums are victims of these places.
To answer your question, a wig usually means a full artificial head of hair, whereas a hairpiece (aka hair system or toupee) means a partial wig which just covers the bald spot and leaves the good hair you have still showing. Most guys with male pattern baldness will have a horseshoe shape of good hair, and the hairpiece fills in the bald oval space in the middle. You can also have smaller hairpieces to fill in just a bald crown or just a receding hairline.
