Grew out my hair since last post. My left temple seems to be thinning the most.

Okay so for full context last year was very stressful for me and maybe it could be attributed to that (I did notice shedding, but I've always shed a lot of hair)?? I was getting my haircut last year and that's when I really noticed that my left temple seems thinner. Last year I lost roughly 40lb as well going from 200lb to around 160lb. I kind of crash dietied as I lost weight( I know this isn't good) around sometime last year I preemptively started using minoxidil but I only used it on and off(my mistake as now I understand that you shouldn't do that) I think I did have a shedding faze and it may have fcked up that area but I've put some images from previous years to compare 20260207_193237.jpg.

well it sounds like you know exactly what you did wrong. get consistent with oral minoxidil, get consistent about nutrition/protein, get consistent about getting bloodflow to your scalp via head massage. once all these bases are covered then you can reassess your situation.

Bloodflow is total bullshit. If you want bloodflow just drink alcohol lol.

You're losing rapidly. Significant weight loss, and malnutrition, will both accelerate the process. Hopefully you can stabilize with a consistent regimen. Good news is, the more recent the hair loss the greater chance you have at regrowth.

Well I guess my question at this point is do restart minoxidil? Or should should I wait and see those little hairs to grow back out and reassess. I also saw some pictures from March of last year and my hairline looked fine. I was still visibily fat. And then in May is when I was getting my hair cut when I started noticing the thinning. By may I had lost 15-20lbs. Idk if being fat has anything to do with my hair but it certainly feels as though.

Your hair looks like it has recovered. Bro, you MUST stay consistent with treatment ESPECIALLY with minoxidil, all it takes is a week or 2 for your follicle synchronisation to get messed up. I speak from 8 years experience.

Yes. You need to be on treatments. Also, being fat usually = more estrogen, which protects hair. Probably more of the reason why people who lose weight lose hair. I don't think increasing T usually messes up hair as much (from exercise & diet). Lots of fat NW0s out there.
