I've had a full head of hair for 24 years, I'm still a Norwood 1.5 but I can see under enough light that my front hairs are thinning and I'll most likely soon have that M hairline which will make me look like a 30yo man.

Last time I had my head shaved was in primary school when I got lice, so it will be interesting to see how it looks now. I think the biggest stress factor of losing hair is the fear of how it will look once its gone, so by just getting it out of the way now I can get used to the look early on and give a bit middle finger to alopecia. If I do choose to pursue treatment, it will also be easier to apply minoxidil (probably lipogaine from the reviews) to a buzzcut, and if it works the hair will grow back fuller and I will have new appreciation of it :notworthy

I did the same thing, when I noticed a bald patch forming at the back I knew sooner rather than later I would buzz it off. I started with a 1 on the sides and 2 on the top, 3 weeks later and I now use no guard in the clippers which is 0.5mm. It helped me deal with it too, and like macarona said, it makes applying topicals much easier cos you're basically at the scalp straight away! Worst case scenario if you don't like it, it will grow back to where it was before and nothing has been lost!

I did this a few days ago, and it looked OK-ish the first 2-3 days but now that the hair on the sides has grown in, it gives that "baldie" look and it looks fking terrible, it would actually look better completely bald or at least if I had no hair on the sides at all, the sides need to be kept shorter or completely shaved for it to look good. Why can't we just transplant ALL the hair from the sides to the top? Who needs hair on the sides anyways, I would get rid of it in a heartbeat, not only would it look better but there would be enough of it to completely cover most of the top for anyone <NW3. I would deplete my donor region completely and not care, go for that army look.

It's actually keeping me awake now how bad it looks. I will need to cut the sides tommorow , I would actually shave them down with a razor but my problem is I have a lot of moles or whatever, all over the head, and I'm afraid of catching them with a razor that would be a bad thing, and shaving around them is gonna be difficult plus I think there is actually hair growing from them it's pretty messed up.

That's not a bad idea, is it technically possible though? The "vikings" look would be pretty awesome haha.

I say good luck. I wish I would have the courage to do it, just to see what it would look like. I'm not only a nw2a, but I know that one day I'll need to buzz it, and having never did it before, I'm sure it'll be a very sad day for me.

Yeah man, if only we could find a hair transplant doctor who wouldn't mind depleting all of the donor.

BTW... Praise the Sun!

Oh is that why it's never been done? A hair transplant doctor isn't willing to do it?

Haha fellow sunbro!

Apparently they are against transplanting hair in any kind of "unnatural" shape, which I guess means leaving the donor area with a certain amount of hair.

I say screw that, I'd let them take as much as needed to get full density and hairline back at the top, then maybe when stem cells get here I'd go and regenerate the donor area. Or maybe I wouldn't even bother.

It's the top that matters the most.

You buzzed your sides in you last video and it looks good. You will look fine with a buzzed cut.
