I don't know if it'll actually be encapsulated(in nanosomes)..but Elsom *may* be acquiring some Acetyl-glutathione to be used in topicals. Otherwise they can put plain ole glutathione in a topical..which..as I'm sure you know...smelllllls.

I've been putting some of that Protect120 on my scalp at times. It's more transdermal than a topical..but might as well try it. It has a very faint sulfur smell to it.

Then there's Stimucap...and probably many other things like this http://www.geronova.com/content/na-rla-cosmetic-applications that boost glut. May look into that latter one if the Acetyl-glut doesn't work out. Or maybe even in addition to it.

I noticed that place still has spin traps available: http://store.geronova.com/spin-traps-c6.aspx

I couldn't tell you..which is why I'm even thinking of using a bit of all of them if Elsom can obtain them all. Years ago I even had spin traps added to a custom topical.

I guess I'm most interested in using the Acetyl-glutathione..

Just a bump to update on my experience with Acetyl-glutathione. I think it was Squeegee who mentioned the cysteine peptide product doing wonders for his skin. I noticed it a bit while on Swanson's version..maybe I didn't take enough(it was in capsules, after all)...but W :woot: W this Acetyl-glutathione finally kicked in towards the end of the bottle. I've never had skin like this before...or it's been so long I just can't remember.

I have also used that Protect 120 the past few weeks..but not much..since I was waiting to finish the Acetyl-glutathione. I did have a crazy break-out reaction about a week ago..which has pretty much cleared up.

Hair-wise...can't really say. On how it helps skin..it seems to mainly be via the liver. Here's a blurb from Swanson's(they used to(!) carry the cysteine peptide product):

Although we’re targeting it for liver health (glutathione detoxifies this organ), I noticed in the manufacturer’s studies that about 3.5 grams of cysteine peptide per day also resulted in better skin for the test subjects! (Hmmm...this interests me.) The words used to describe their skin are “moist,†“velvety,†“silky†and “smooth.†I’m not surprised, though—or even skeptical. I already wrote about the undeniable link between the liver and the skin on our Liver Health page, stating “Because both the liver and the skin are the organs most involved in toxin removal, many herbalists connect clear, luminous and even-toned skin with healthy liver function, so anyone concerned about their outward appearance should pay strict attention to liver health, too.â€

http://swansonvitamins.blogs.com/swanson_weblog/2006/01/aging_gratefull.html

I would think there'd be more to it than that..since I have used various liver-detox'n products over the years. But then again..glutathione is supposed to be the big one.

For anyone interested....or even if you aren't interested(please)...fill out the request form here(scroll down a bit..even though it may say "page not found"): http://www.swansonvitamins.com/product.request.do and copy/paste Acetyl-Glutathione as the requested product. I'm assuming it'd be a bit cheaper if they carried it.

Here's the brand I'm currently taking: http://www.nutricology.com/Acetyl-Glutathione-60-Tablets-p-16700.html

But this one is cheaper(may even be cheaper elsewhere):
http://www.peoplesrx.com/shop/produ...154906f41d99bdb3286d064ba81&private_product=1

I'm tempted to stay on this stuff since it's working so well. I just hate the price(see my previous post about asking Swanson's for it). Might alternate it with a Setria product..such as this: http://www.iherb.com/Healthy-Origins-Setria-L-Glutathione-Reduced-500-mg-150-Capsules/17353?at=0 .. or http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SW936/ItemDetail?n=0 ..or most likely for now- with the transdermal topical I already have(Protect 120).

Here are the different brands using Setria: http://setriaglutathione.com/where-to-find.html

Ive never felt better since taking Acetyl-glutathione. Back pain from inflamation due to a degenerated disc has been eliminated completely.

Its the best $90 a month Ive ever spent....

To anyone in the know, do you think Acetyl-glutathione could reduce the inflammation in the scalp? I believe DHT causes the follicle to do something (not sure what) that causes the immune system to destroy the follicle. Could stopping inflammation prevent hair loss?

I think it can...glut can help with many skin conditions from what I've read. There's also that- lower glut in the balding areas info out there..which is mentioned here:http://www.glutathionemasterantioxidant.com/aboutglutathioneandbaldness.html

Anagen is the active growing phase of hair. Research shows an active correlation between Glutathione content and the percentage of Anagen hairs present in the scalp, concluding that Glutathione helps maintain the hair growth cycle. Researchers theorize that free radical formation plays a role in male pattern baldness. It is possible to break down the products of oxidative stress in bald and hairy areas of the scalp. The values are doubled in the balding areas. And the hairy areas have almost three times as much Glutathione. The suggestion is that Glutathione plays a protective role.

All of this is why I like to use it topically as well...if it doesn't smell

Yep..it's used for that as well. I've seen glutathione soap for this purpose too. I think for those of us lighter folks..it evens the skin tone and protects against sun/uv damage. I notice I don't burn as easily..similar to Fernblock etc. Tanning nicely.

So unless your skin is on the darker side..I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hmmmm...maybe Michael Jackson was taking glutathione baths after sleeping in the oxygen chamber. :dunno:

I'm not Squeegee..but in case he's not around for awhile...those are 2 different products. Both geared towards boosting glut.

A bit on the cysteine peptide:
Glutathione is the body’s natural antioxidant. The liver makes it from the amino acid cysteine, but like practically everything else in an aging body (except facial hair growth), glutathione production slows down with each passing year. If glutathione levels remained high, our cells would not oxidize and age so quickly. Unfortunately, glutathione supplements aren’t particularly effective, since our cells don’t absorb the glutathione very well. A better way to up the glutathione in your body is take in more cysteine and let your body convert it to glutathione right inside the cell. But that hasn’t been ideal either, since cysteine is rather unstable and much if it gets oxidized before it is assimilated. This new cysteine peptide supplement is bonded to an amino acid peptide from whey so it is more stable and readily assimilated. It gets through digestion unharmed so your cells can convert all they want into glutathione.

On acetyl-glutathione:
Acetyl-glutathione is a compound normally found in a human body, as an analog to the potent antioxidant, reduced glutathione. Glutathione is, of course, a potent intracellular antioxidant, and it's depletion is a component of every chronic disease and inflammatory condition, or the most chronic circumstance of aging. It may also act - as other peptides have been found to behave - as a signal to other metabolic processes.

Acetyl-glutathione (acetylated at anyone of the three possible positions of the tripeptide) is made by the liver and transported to all other tissues. It is easily assimilated intracellularly and then allowed to perform its powerful antioxidant and metabolic regulatory effects without prior decomposition by peptidases.

It has been found that acetyl-glutathione is absorbed orally and is transported to all tissues of the body with remarkable anti-aging effects, anti-viral effects, and in some studies an effect on some cancers. More and more is being discovered about this remarkable compound. Studies are ongoing regarding the use of this product in HIV infections, most cancers, and all inflammatory diseases.*

Reading up on the whitening with glutathione...you'd need to go overboard for some time to worry about it. For example- "The most advisable dosage is 10-20mg/kg BodyWeight to use glutathione as an anti-oxidant and for whitening it has to be 20-40mg/kg/BW. example: 50kg x 20mg = 1000mg."

Now that's not with this acetyl-glutathione or LivonLabs liposomal glut(which I never got this kind of result with either)..but I've only been taking 100mg of acetyl-glut a day. First week I did 100mg ever other day. There were a few days in a row I took 2 a day.
