Why would he lose his gain?
Idk what you’re asking. I meant he had great gains and I don’t know why other members aren’t commenting.

Hi BigJimmy,
I use a solution with 10% minoxidil and 0.1% Finasteride.

What i could notice after i started to use the mix with topical Finasteride was a new round of shedding that lasted about one month.

you said this “Well without finasteride you’ll lose those gains rather quickly. If you’ve been bald for 7 years already I guess it doesn’t matter”.
Won’t minoxidil keep his hair growth?

Oh, no probably not. Minoxidil’s results usually drop off after about two years or so without an antiandrogen

Well that explains my situation then good to know. My dr won’t give me fina as I’m female.
I’ve heard of females taking finasteride, my doctor was telling me the other day she had a girlfriend that was taking finasteride.

Minoxidil still works but not as good at before, at 4 year mark.. your right tho, was about two years when it decreased. Sucks super bad. Thought I had my life back.
I’ve heard of it to but it’s rare. She was stressing its link to cancer. Rare but linked I guess. Maybe I’ll ask again. Thank you!

a few more weeks has passed, and it seems like its still improving . i had another haircut todsy and the density of the crown has improved.

the results is coming, but it takes time..guess my age is a factor in that.

Why don’t you grow it out more? It looks like it can give you some coverage if it was longer...

so it is all topical ? nothing else ?
yes, i buy a generic version with:
10% minoxidil and 0,1% finesteride

i have not had any side effects and its a 1 minute application every morning and evening.

i started in February so its 8 months now, i think it works, i see others post amazing results after 1-3 months but considering my bald head and my age, i am very happy with the result so far and hope it will improve furter during the next 6 months. i can see more and more terminal hair on my scalp.

Hi, i am on a bit similar regime with similar time line but with different results

I have been on minoxidil for few years. Reading this forum i added perilla and dermaroller this February. In June i added nizoral and topical finasteride 0.5mg.

I have not had any signs of regrowth so far. And shedding goes on may be even faster. As a side effect a get more hairy on other parts of the body.

Would you say i shall be persistent and go on or is this the time to give up?
If i shall give up, are there any other ways to try instead?
If i shall go on, for how long?

hi Luke,
do you have any before and after pictures?
what age and norwood are you?

you started with topical finasteride in June, thays only 4-5 months, i would give it another 3-4 months.

if thers no progress in that time, then its time to think about quitting (depending on circumstances).

I am 38. I noticed some shedding being may be 31-32. Since that I might have lost about 70% of my hair - in a difused way. (I have no photos or knowledge what norwood I am).

The shedding became quicker everytime I introduced new regime (minoxidil and later finasteride). However no regrowth at all after that.

The only noticable regrowth (but very minor) was after I was aplying Protopic due to my eczema. Protopic deals with skin inflamation, so may be this could be my issue.

I will probably follow your suggestion, wait for another 4 months and if there is no obvious result, I will quit.

Hi Luke,
i hope things work out for you, and i hope you will start to get results soon.

you should go to a specialist if you have eczema, you might need cortisone and topical d vitamins (the doctor should know) and that could with some luck help your hairloss.

I’d be really curious what your hair will look like if you grow it out for a month or two.
