In my experience the foam is more effective than the liquid, but it's at least just as good. There is only one brand, Rogaine Foam, and I always purchase from Ebay.

Great, and its safe to assume that 1 foam bottle lasts a month even if I wanna put on top not just on crown/temples?
Thanks again,

Maybe its because you started with liquid and than went to foam...hence you had loss?
Someone like me who will go directly to foam might have good results since I didnt do liquid before??????

I used liquid for 4 years before starting the foam and still had improved results. You'll find some who claim that the foam destroyed their hair. I think it can cause a really big shed in some people due to the increased absorption/effectiveness and folks get scared and quit/go back to liquid. Then they recover from their shed and think the liquid is better. I will say that if you have longer hair or your hair is somewhat thick, the foam may have a harder time getting to the scalp than the liquid, so you may want to consider a shorter hair cut if that's the case...or use the liquid.
LostWind said:Thanks, i'll do that... short hair cut...
and not to stop when the crazy shed hits eh?![]()

Don't overuse it either. I've read of posters going through a can a week and then are shocked when they shed like dogs. A half a capful is plenty for the whole head.

A half cap of the spray itself right?
I hope it works for me man...
I am not using finasteride...had sides... im using spironolactone on hairline and got crashed spironolactone pills in my nizoral 2% hopefully...it works for me...
LostWind said:Beaner, would you say I can have an improvement even though I am not on finasteride?
I'm using spironolactone+nizoral on my head right now..oh by the way do you have irritation from foam?
Thanks

Yes. I used the liquid version pretty much by itself for a couple years and saw improvements, although nothing as dramatic as I've seen over the last couple years with finasteride. I'll tell you one thing though, I started taking some supplements including saw palmetto and fish oils a few years back and I began noticing more new growth from the minoxidil, and my scalp/hair was less oily, so I think they may have helped somewhat. I've since dropped the saw palmetto but still take fish oil daily. I also currently use spironolactone and I believe it's also been quite helpful.
LostWind said:Maybe your big improvement came from foam??? I checked the FOAM survey and you said that it was better than the liquid..could the success also be attributed to foam ???????
I got saw palmetto and beta sitosterol that I am not using currently maybe I could do them, the only reason I dont want to be on finasteride is gyno....
