Hello,
Firstly about myself. I'm 22 and I've always had a high hairline from since I can remember. However in the last year or so I've noticed that it seems to be getting a little higher and seems harder to style my hair as I normally do. I do not know whether I'm being paranoid or not.
I've looked at pictures from 5 years ago and it seems to be no different from then! And I was 17! I've attached pictures to show what it was like then (apologies for size but it's the best one I could find that shows the high hairline) and also now with my hair held back and how it is normally styled.
I am posting this to possible get some advice from anyone who is willing to give it. Is all this just in my head or am I just losing my hair slowly? I don't seem to have any problem with the crown area and when I wash and dry my hair it's quite thick. It's just the hairline that I'm worried about.
I've done quite a bit of research into treatments and at the moment I really don't want to go down the finasteride route as I really couldn't do to have any sexual sides at this stage of my life. I don't have any trouble attracting girls and no-one has noticed that i'm receding, I often get alot of comments on how nice my hair looks. At the moment I'm fine with my hair as it is.. I'm just worried that it will get worse in the near future and become unbearably more noticeable... that's the thing that gets me down the most as I'm sure many of you will agree. My hair has always been an important factor of my image and I find myself getting very jealous when I see people with perfect hair or even worse when people have shaved heads but obviously have very nice hairlines and i think what a waste it is that they have that hair and not using it to its potential.
I've been considering whether it would be worthwhile to try minoxidil to see if there's any improvement? Or is using it on its own a waste of time? I'm aware that there's only a small percentage of people who really really suffer from finasteride but does anyone actually know what the percentage is of people who suffer permanent sides? And also, I've heard one of the sides is watery semen... could anyone shed a bit more light on this and what it's like? Sounds like it could be embarassing when being intimate with a girl.
Thankyou for reading this and any advice is welcomed.
