Hi. Just curious of opinions.
I have been on dutasteride (avodart?) for 9 months and the first inch or 2 of my hairline has thinned pretty rapidly over the last 5 months or so. Was on finasteride before and whilst there was shedding its never been this thin. My dht blood levels are 0.170 mnol/l or 4.9ngdl which is super low, on finasteride I got down to 0.25mnol/l or 7ngdl so I know it's working, just concerned the front is so much thinner. Had slight thinning on finasteride but no where near as bad. I tried dutasteride before only to have a similar thing happen to hairline then it gradually thickened when I came off and went back on to finasteride. Problem I had on finasteride was it caused seborrheic dermatitis and itching/sore all over scalp. Only front is sore whilst on dutasteride also, sometime if I lightly tug a hair on front it comes out? Should I give dutasteride a break or reduce dose? Am on 0.5 a day but am cutting back to every other day or third day to see if reduced testosterone could help. My testosterone levels are average not high and gave only gone up a little bit since switching to dutasteride.

Many thanks

Same thing happened to me and I quit Dutasteride because of that and it caused more gyno. I was on finasteride at the same time and only took Dutasteride once per week. I am still on finasteride and things slowed back down but I am still losing density as we know this drug is no cure.
