finasteride vs. finasteride + minoxidil

How dramatic do you think is the difference between just using finasteride and using finasteride and minoxidil at the same time?

I have been using finasteride for two years now and I feel it is not strong enough in my case. I am sure it has an effect. My hair got a lot darker and shiny again, I had regrowth at first as well. However I am still slowly thinning ... and have less now than before I started ...

... could adding minoxidil be worth a shot or have I lost the battle if finasteride alone can't stabilize?

I am 29/ diffuse thinning.

Yes minoxidil and finasteride combined is much stronger than finasteride alone, its like a synergetic effect, 1+1=3.

So it is not necessarily an uphill battle you can't win anyways, if finasteride alone does not stop your hair loss?

I use finasteride and rogaine foam, I use the foam all over my head as I have had regrowth hairline to crown, amazing results.

I use 2 + cans of foam a month as you need that much to cover your head if using it all over

That's hard to say, I think it will become a tough battle, but I would give it a shot if I were you, you can also start using a different minoxidil with extra ingredients, something like Spectral DNC or xandrox, plus you can switch from finasteride to dutasteride.
