I've been on finasteride for fourth months but im still losing my hair

my hair is still progressivly getting more and more miniturized at hairline, around 1 inch deep of scalp surface all around hairline and in my already recessed temples

i already cut off all my friends and don't even talk to my family anymore because it has really destroyed my life to look like some freak now

all i have taken is finasteride 1 mg per day generic costco

I have pictures from recent, but i dont see point in going through all the work to get them to upload properly, it is clear finasteride is not working.

My twin still is not receding like me as aggressively

Its sad to hear how this affects you in your prrsonal life. Just a question though, have you tried in combination with Nizoral and Regaine? From what im reading on this forum lots of guys are and with bettet results!

Dude, wait at least 3 more months to see if it kicks in.

If it doesn't, try adding dustasteride, or upping the finasteride dosage to 5mg a day (the proscar standard dosage for people with prostate problems). Give that at least 9 months as well.

In any event, you are going to have to get over your hair loss, at some point. Better to get over it now. Show everyone your bald head, they will make jokes, look at you funny at first, but soon it will pass and your friends and family won't give a sh*t.

Oh, and grow a go-tee and get some barbed wire tats around your arms to add the bald bad-boy image.

OK, I kid about this last part. Sort of.

Finasteride will only slow your rate of hair loss as well every other hair product out there. I recommend you look into Cytokine PrP. It will slow your rate of hair loss significantly. Your miniaturized follicles will improve and become more healthy. You will notice a 50% increase in hair density, accelerated hair growth and increased follicluar density. PrP moves your hair out of the resting phase and into the growing phase. The only downside is the treatment will last one year before your need a follow up treatment. Make sure you research the clinics that offer PrP because many sell a poor product that will yield little an insignificant impact.

Is your twin identical? Is he on finasteride? If he is identical and he is not on finasteride, you have helped solve a conspiracy theory that taking finasteride makes the hairline worse.

I have Nizoral but no Rogaine, because I worry that people say it makes hair really greasy, and I have long hair (to my shoulders and beyond). I wouldn't know how to apply rogain without making my head look rediculous

the only thing this finasteride and nizoral has done is stopped the needle-like pain on top of my head which appeared this past year when I had this hair loss

I don't know if my doctor would allow that, she didn't even know what Finasteride was. She was so ignorant that she assumed my miniturized hair was regrowth when I came to her to get medication for the first time.

I don't want to go on dutasteride, because I hardly ever find people that switch have success, it sounds rare for people to have success. Also 5 mg per day sounds like a lot to take for the rest of life

I don't want to get over my hair loss, because I never got to have a youth because of social anxiety and hair loss is stealing it away from me the moment I started to conquer my anxiety. I already do not look in mirror and see myself anymore with this hair loss, and I feel it will only get worse

I did accept I will always be a virgin at least, and that I will never date anyone in my life. But this is too much, to not see myself when I look in a mirror. and to go outside, and to see people who have fine hair many years older than me, and therefore get to look young, and they have all success.

I am not a biker or a tough guy and I never want to be that in any way

I have not heard of this before, but I am assuming it will require a fair amount of money? And if it is so effective, why is no one seemingly using it? But if it is expensive in any way, I cannot use it , I only work minimum wage, I never went to college

Yes he is Identical, and no he is not on finasteride. And yes perhaps that is true. Although, he has much less stress than me, does not have sustained clinical depression, and who knows what other external factors might be involved

Now that you have confirmed that it is possible, it really makes me wonder if it really is true. Was your hair loss worse than his when you started finasteride? I think comparing identical twins on every aspect is really interesting. I always wished I had an identical twin. How do you guys differ both physically and mentally?

4 months isn't really enough time, I was also losing ground after 4 months, but now at around 9 months everything has seemed to thickened up. It's all about patience with finasteride.

Rakoczi keep up your hope, don't lose that. You are still young and there could be something new that comes along as hair loss is huge and many companies researching every day to find a cure. could be just a matter of months or years. I am pretty certain you will date someone and that will come either when you reach a point when you think f*** this it wont stop me from living my life or something will start to work for you. Keep researching too and read up in the 'success stories' thread as you might find alternatives. I found a few things which I want to try but going to do a bit more research first and also some blood tests from doctor.

He hasn’t been on this forum for 37 weeks.

If you’ve been on finasteride longer than a month and your situation is worsening get a blood test to check your dht. This will tell you whether or not it is working as intended. If your dht levels are still at the normal range it’s not working. If they are low as intended and you’re past 6 months of finasteride use consider dutasteride. In the meantime consider getting on a topical antiandrogen.

I've been on finasteride for two years and I'm still unsure as to whether it's working or not, hair loss can f*ck with your mind like crazy. But to answer your question, my hair went absolutely awful and seemed so thin all over and lifeless in the summer (a few months after starting finasteride)

It did eventually but took a while. I'd say the first 7 months or so it was looking pretty bad, took me around 9-10 months for it to go back to how it was and maybe a little better although hard to say
