Finasteride Induced Scalp Itch Help

I'm certain that finasteride has caused my scalp to become itchy and tingly. Before taking it I never ever had this problem. My itch is mostly on my crown and sometimes scalp, wherever the itch is concentrated I will itch it and 5 hairs will come out easily. The shedding is creating new thin spots that were never there prior to taking finasteride.

I've heard that the itch is from dht attacking follicles, am I not responding well? Should I quit finasteride?

Pics are my current hair. Don't have before pics, you'll have to take my word for it that my hair was near perfect before finasteride. I didn't have any crown or scalp thinning before finasteride

I'll also add that this damage has been done in only 2 months of finasteride use

I had some light thinning going on, nothing major. I thought finasteride would stop my shedding, it's been quite the opposite. Derm told me it's better to start finasteride earlier then later.

The itching could very well be from the minoxidil. Did you start finasteride and minoxidil at roughly the same time?

No I started minoxidil 6 months before finasteride

Hmm. It very well cound be finasteride then as I had the same problem.. For me personally the only thing that fixed it was powerful anti androgens.

I don't even know where to get anti androgens. Any treatment I use seemingly makes my hair worse, so I'm scared to try them. Wish I never touched minoxidil and finasteride. My hair would be so much better without them

I can relate, I personally felt finasteride hurt my hair.. What helped me was a treatment combo of finasteride, cyproterone acetate and oral minoxidil.

Was cypro a prescription or did u get it online? I've heard of spironoctalone as an anti androgen. But I've heard lots of mixed things about it. Id preferably like to stay away from anything that induces shedding as I've already been shedding 300 hairs daily for a couple months now. No idea how I still have hair left
