So my hair always grown slowly and it's always been thin. My mom is the same way, as well as the males in the family. However, no one has ever gone bald in my family. All the males retained a mature hairline. Despite that, I'm only 20 and I just can't shake the feeling that I'm balding.

Hey man. I'm sorry to say but a mature hairline is hair that has receded for a while and has stopped, you never know when it will stop, and/or for how long. Unfortunately, in my opinion, I'd say that you are balding. There are two options, either treat it or let nature take its course.

So I'll be the first person in my family to bald? That sucks :/ Are store bought treatments good enough? Or do I have to go to a doctor?

You won't have to go bald if you start the right treatments. Read about minoxidil, finasteride and nizoral. They could be ordered online but also be store-bought.

If you're still not sure wether you're balding or not you can always consult a dermatologist (Although some of them are unexperienced).

Sorry to say but you're definitely balding IMO. Your hairline is quite recessed and it looks like you might be starting to thin too. I'd look at using treatments ASAP. As for your relatives there will definitely be some bald individuals within your family for you to have it this early. You certainly need to look into it further

The only thing I'm confused about is my hair has been exactly like this since high school. And after I read both your posts, I went back and looked at pictures of myself 1 and 2 years ago. My hairline and the amount of hair I have is exactly the same.

Also, here's a pic of when it's not wet. The original pictures were right after I showered.

Sorry but that pic in comparison to the ones you posted earlier do not like alike. Have a look at your temples.

Very simple, compare yourself to Zayn Malik. His hairline is the true definition of a juvenile hairline with no balding or receding. Most hispanics tend to have this juvenile hairline most of their lives. Your hairline is high and recessed more than most guys who are just 20. How advanced you will be in the future is unpredictable. There is always a first in every family. You might be the exception to the rule.

My original pictures were taken when I had recently showered and my hair was still pretty clumped. This picture is well after I showered and it was completely dry, and what my hair normally looks like.

Although I've always had a high hairline, I don't doubt that I've receeded. It's just that, in my opinion, the recession looks more like a maturing than male pattern baldness.

As long as you never go beyond a NW2 and lose density, you would be right. However, unfortunately, most guys do but you might be lucky enough where it happens in your 40's when most guys do.

Do you have pictures of your hairline, pre receding, when you were younger for comparison?
