I heard it isn't advisable to exercise every day, rather you should exercise every other day in order to rest your muscles. However I like the idea of exercising every day so what do you guys think?

I've heard that muscles grow while on rest, thus it's advisable to have off-days. If you work out every day, muscles don't necessarily have time to grow or something...

I used to lift one day and do cardio the next. Now I'm going to lift and do cardio every day except for Sunday(maybe). The thing about it is I divided my routine so that I'm capable of doing it everyday. I work specfic muscles in the gym one day and then do some sprints or something and then work another set of muscles(different from previous day) and then jog or somethin like that. This way I get more weight concentration to the specific muscles I work each day because I'm focused on a few muscles each day instead of a broad variety(everything) when I did it EOD. Feel me?

Do you actually have any gains with that routine? Okey, of course you will have some muscle gains, but when you do aerobic training on your lifting days you wear down your muscle and dont get the full growth effect. Your diet has to be perfect not to waste your muscle building. Why do you think hardcore lifters do easy cardio around 75% HRM, they dont wont to loose muscle. But if you are one of the lucky ones that get easy gains Im glad :)

When I was real into lifting I did a easy jog in the morning(because of the insulins effect on fat burning and you become more awake the whole day) and lifting at night(because of hormon levels).

BTW, ripple effect, I have read somewhere that grapefruit is bad(did lower the effect of the drug) when you take some meds, and I think one of the drugs mentioned was Propecia. You could to a quick google check to check it out

GL, with your training.
People shouldn't train to look good, but to feel good. The looks is just a big upside!

SoThatsLife, if you get rid of the apostrophes (the raised comma ') in your regimen then people will be able to see it by just hovering their mouse over it.

I'm not looking to get bulky. I'm going for the lean, cut look. In my previous post I listed a plan than I was developing. As of now it's to lift Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Monday&Thursday - Chest/Abs/Biceps + Elliptical | Tuesday&Friday - Back/Shoulders/Triceps/Calves | Wed&Sat - Sprints | Sun - Off

Sprints complement muscle gains while jogging doesn't. I also lift at night because it feels right to lift at night. It feels weird to lift during the day....maybe cause of the hormone levels you referred to. Grapefruit does increase the potency of finasteride.

Your post is kind of confusing...lol? I think it does have something to do w/ the hormones. Also....potency = effect. Grapefruit does increase the effect of finasteride. Type it up in google yourself. Were you drunk cause it kinda seems like it.. Lol

The best way to balance out your body is rotate your schedule between lifting weights and cardio. Example is Monday, wednesday and friday lift weights meaning 2 muscles each day and Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday do Cardio.

They reckon you should do regular exercise.

My routine is:

Monday: Ninjutsu
Tuesday: One hour Bodypump class
Wednesday: Ninjutsu
Thursday: One Hour Bodypump, followed by 1 hour of circuit training.
Friday: Play Tabletennis
Saturday: Dink lots of ale
Sunday: One hour Body Pump

I know its a lot but I find it a great release.

Cheers

Steve

it's bad to exercise every day with weights. your muscle needs time to recover or you'll actually make your muscles smaller. if you exercise everyday but don't lift everyday, ..it's fine

i think arnie would lift weights 2x a day and pretty much do that every day.

i remember reading about a tennis player who would do hardcore exercise 2x a day and sleep in between as well as at night. he also had a full thick head of hair, but i'm sure that was completely genetic

there's nothing wrong with lifting weights every day, just don't do the same muscles on consecutive days.

yeah..arnold did that but he would alternate muscles every day..it's never the same muscles..and all body builders take 2 days off for rest..body doesn't grow if you don't. not to mention steroids. which helped him recuperate faster
