Excessive Shedding At 16-start Of male pattern baldness?

Alright, I'll apologize in advance as this is gonna be a long post, but if you've got the time stick with me for a minute.

I'm currently 16, and last year, I thought I was going bald. I freaked and started posting here. People told me I looked pretty much fine, but to check my hairline every so often to make sure I catch myself early if I did start balding.

Well, after that, I got sick. Allergy induced asthma and repiratory infections. I'm still sick now. I cough and sniffle constantly, and go through an XL box of tissues everyday. I'm on about 8 difffernt medications, however only 3 say they have an incredibly low risk of hair loss (.81% was the highest percentage I found for any of them)

Now, I'm staying home most days, and I have noticed a lot of shedding. I typically notice 5-20 hairs on my shirt or in my hands and comb. Lately, I notice about three hairs at least every hour. They are from all over my head, as they are short, long and medium in length. This has me scared. I have not seen a visible change in my hairline, or the overall thickness of my hair. So, I am trying to determine if I have started balding now. This has been going on a little less then 3 weeks.

Another thing I've been doing is the 60 second hair count test. It's the test where you shampoo your hair for three days, and then comb your hair for a full 60 seconds and count the hair that falls out. If you have more than 10, you are supposedly starting to go bald. Is this test accurate? My last count (a week ago) was only 6 hairs. Have you heard of this test? Does it have any truth to it at all?

If you read this whole post, thank you, and if you have thoughts on what is causing my extra shedding, and if it is cause for worry, your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to those who responded. My main concern at the moment is excessive shedding. Now, I'm not losing clumps of hair, but, I typically notice at least 3-5 hairs on my desk per hour. While technically this is still in the normal 50-100 hairs a day, it is a large difference for me. I typically notice at most 5 hairs throughout the day, while I'm now noticing a lot more.

If I run my hand through my hair, hair will come out, and if the wind is blowing, hair will come out. It's very concerning.

My biggest fear is that I've got diffuse thinning, as all the hairs are different lengths. I really just can't shake the feeling that I'm gonna go bald in the next few years.

This looks like at least a Norwood 2 right? My temples have always been thin, and there's still hair there. The picture is a bit blurry but it was the best I could get.

Hey all thanks for responses. I've got one more pic just because I'm paranoid

This is with wet hair, but my forelock(?) or middle of my hairline looks thin even when dry. I also am having some scalp acne, does this have anything to do with balding?

From what I know, there is no correlation between scalp acne and balding, except in rare cases where scalp acne is severe and extensive enough to damage hair.

I seem to be losing hair only in the very center of my hairline

This is right after putting product in. I also have some wispy hairs along my hairline. That all points to the start of balding right?

You also have really fine hair so it's hard to say what wispy looks like for you. I want you to tilt your head slightly to the left or right and take a pic. If I'm right the "wispy" hair is only a result of the light shining directly on your hairline. It should make the area of your hair closest to the light look the thinnest.

You have a naturally medium/large forehead. The 'thinning' at the middle of the line isn't really uncommon its more likely just natural hair line and you have blonde hair, plush super harsh lighting, plus its standing up. Just keep an eye on it and check back in 6 months with new pics to see if there are changes. Don't stress too much yet. You're young enjoy ur life. Not balding imo

Señor AlDidaS: I think I see what you mean, that the harshness of the light is what makes my hair look thin and that it'll look thin from any angle under the light? Honestly it looks exactly the same in my mirror so I think you're right.

Right now, I'm gonna say that the combo of damp product and harsh light made that photo look really bad as it doesn't regularly look like that. I'll keep tabs on it closely. Thank you for yalls help!

Ok so my hairline isn't looking very different, but I feel like I'm noticing a lot more hair falling out. Will post pics tonight and anyone's thoughts are greatly appreciated.

My hairline looks almost exactly the same. Kinda shitty temples, the weird M/V thin spot in the center, and somewhat high. The only change I’ve noticed is more hair coming out. I don’t remember ever losing a lot of hair out of the shower, but now some nights it’ll be as many as 20 hairs. I also seem to be noticing more shed in general, and from every area of my head. I think I’ve finally started to really thin, and I have no idea what to do and am incredibly stressed and paranoid about it.

I think this picture clearly shows recession. Please give your thoughts. My hair is wet and it was taken under a bathroom light but I still think it shows heavy recession.

Great hairline. Nothing to worry about. You might have fine hair so sometimes it can look like its thinning but its not.
