people are using the wrong oils and wrong carriers

things to try:

German Chamomile Essential Oil - most powerful anti inflammatory, 2 or 3 drops

Patchouli Oil - strongest 5ar inhibitor, about 4 drops, per 50ml

Mix them into Polysorbate 20 - this lets them mix into water, then a liquid like ginseng water or aloe vera juice

Do not use carrier oils, the greasy feeling deters long term use

can you put the polysorbate volume and the aloe vera juice volume for concentrations. Imma give it a try, this one or armando version, i have nothing to lose at this point

this formula does contain rosemary, i know everyone loves to criticise it, but it does work well, people just need to open their mind to new oils too

generally speaking you match polysorbate 20 about 1:1 to the oils you use, or just a bit more.

you have to mix the oils and polysorbate first, then add them to your carrier liquid. it could a ginseng water, aloe vera, or centella (gotu kola) liquid, not herbal tinctures, but liquid extracts. herbal tinctures don't work because they stain skin.
centella is sold just as centella, it's not a herbal product

Final product: ~2% total essential oil dilution (skin-safe)

i do that formula

what you could do if you don't want to make it is buy a hair formula with polysorbate 20 already in it,
and add in the essential oils so they mix into it automatically, you don't want them to float on top - might not work though. i prefer mixing it myself

these are the most proven oils, they will work.

actually olive squalene oil may be a good carrier - it's non greasy, absorbs almost instantly without a greasy residue.

so just olive squalene oil and about 6 or 7 essential oils mixed in, 3 drops, each per 50ml

the secret is to use perfumers alcohol

so you want 75% perfumers alcohol (the alcohol itself is 100%, I meant 75% of total mixture)
, mix in your essential oils first,
do not mix in the other liquid yet,

25% of liquid, something like aloe juice after you mixed the oils with alcohol.

so you have a slick non greasy formula

it cannot be something like isopropyl alcohol or 100% ethanol, it needs to be perfumers alcohol

Could you not just use an extremely high proof alcohol? Would be the same effect and you could avoid the denaturants.

I feel like 75% alcohol would evaporate too fast. Not enough time to absorb into the skin imo

perfumers alcohol is specifically designed for cosmetic use

things like everclear are food grade, but too hard to source.

the problem is past 65%, the oils would separate out of the ethanol

or you could experiment with the Pashana products but you don't control the formula.

i used aloe vera juice for cosmetics

store bought products seem to be using normal water, but this is a slight improvement

this product is also an ethanol, essential oil water mix, i don't see a solubiliser

I can understand this statement but there is no reason being too sceptical to try this when you don't have other options. Anecdocts, reputation and scientific research slightly support evidence for possible effectivness and there is no evidence against.

Many of these oils have reputation of being beneficial through the times and some are now later supported by pre-clinical research that shows a possible mechanism of action for preventing male pattern baldness or stimulate hair-growth.

Unfortunately many of this studies of "alternative treatments" is either bad designed or shady. But I was thinking if we can do an ultimate forum here to share anecdots or maybe to run experiment together.

Essential Oils:
Lavender,
Cedarwood
Rosemary
Peppermint
Clary Sage
Thyme

I was thinking of maybe 5-6 oil, where they are parted to two different formulas and taken each EOD. Concentration range 0,05-0,5 %.
For example Lavender, cedarwood, rosemary in jojoba monday wednesday friday etc
Peppermint, Thyme, Clary sage in jojoba tuesday thursday saturday wtc
And then for everyday use a liquid alcoholic solution with very low concentration of all of these for the morning and apply the oil in the evening.

I am still doing research and screening for the best supported oils. Do you guys have any tips?

I have bought rosemary which I formulated 0,5 % in jojoba oil applying 1-2 ml.
Direct effect (only tried 3 days):
Itch gone
Very nice scalp sensation
Cognitive enhancement and mood lifting

I want to try each oil separetly before making a complete formulation but I am running out of patience.

Anyway is there someone that would be interested in joining in Essential oil experiment? If we can gather 10 people+ that try this for 3-6 months I think it will be huge contribution to the community even if we get 0 results.
