I am 16 and have a case of male pattern baldness. I noticed I was losing more hair approximately 3 1/2 months ago, though it is possible I was suffering from a more gradual balding before that time. I started out losing 20-30 hairs in the shower, and it has increased since then to roughly double that. Since starting propecia treatment 2 weeks ago, I have noticed an increase to perhaps 100-120 hairs lost. My hair looks good when it is dry, if a little thinner on the front than the sides, but when it is wet the scalp shows through in several places. I also have receded maybe 1 inch at the temples, enough to be noticeable if I cut my hair short.
Anyway, my question is, how effective is propecia usually for aggressive male pattern baldness? I know that many have success with it, but, relatively speaking, are people with more sudden MBP likely to respond well? Also, how long should I expect to wait before my hair loss is slowed? Losing this much hair every morning is depressing and I have barely any motivation to do anything.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I would really appreciate some guidance on this issue.
