Effectiveness of Propecia on aggressive male pattern baldness

I am 16 and have a case of male pattern baldness. I noticed I was losing more hair approximately 3 1/2 months ago, though it is possible I was suffering from a more gradual balding before that time. I started out losing 20-30 hairs in the shower, and it has increased since then to roughly double that. Since starting propecia treatment 2 weeks ago, I have noticed an increase to perhaps 100-120 hairs lost. My hair looks good when it is dry, if a little thinner on the front than the sides, but when it is wet the scalp shows through in several places. I also have receded maybe 1 inch at the temples, enough to be noticeable if I cut my hair short.

Anyway, my question is, how effective is propecia usually for aggressive male pattern baldness? I know that many have success with it, but, relatively speaking, are people with more sudden MBP likely to respond well? Also, how long should I expect to wait before my hair loss is slowed? Losing this much hair every morning is depressing and I have barely any motivation to do anything.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I would really appreciate some guidance on this issue.

i think it depends on the individual. id like to say i have pretty agressive male pattern baldness that basically came to a standstill after i started using finpecia. also, no sides. but there are people i know who could eat upa whole package per day and bathe in minoxidil and it wouldnt do anything for them. or people who quit propecia even though it was working because of the side effects. so its really subjective. but i assume that the younger you are, the earlier you start, the better the chances of at least dramatically slowing it down. and if its really slow, do you care if youre 50 that you are a nw2? it would look rather natural. plus who knows if hair cloning etc isnt available by then? i recommend you try finasteride and also try minoxidil. i think its the best combination out there that actually does yield results quite often. i know my post doesnt REALLY help, but maybe it will ease your mind.

thats sucks, pal. were you on the big 2 or just finasteride?

finasteride, nizoral and minoxidil. No use. I still take minoxidil because i stopped 2 years ago and had a ridiculously bad shed.

Bought a laser helmet there. Beyond that its unlikely i can slow my losses down much. I'm just too much of a man!
