Early Stages (i Think) Advice, And Second Opinions...

hey guys, 21 and a half years old here.

I’ve always been complimented on how thick of a head of Italian hair I had growing up. But over the last year my hair it’s self got a lot finer and not as thick, and my hairline (as you can see in the pics) has deffo has more of a shape to it.

Do you think im starting to bald, is it possible that my hairline has simply changed and won’t continue to so. Yes you will see in the pics that my hair used to be rather long but I since decided to shave it and regrow from fresh. I originally put the finer hair down to moving to Berlin during the winter, and maybe the lack of sunlight and the cold with a bad flu might of caused it. But it’s been 6 months since then.

Any opinions, thoughts? I’m seeing a doctor in a couple days.

Your crown looks fine but it definitely looks like you are receding at the temples and hairline.

Dad a has full and great head of hair at the age of 50. Brother seems to be doing fine at 25.

My uncles are bald.

You are fine dude. A little bit of recession around 22 is very normal. Aslong as you dont have thinning beyond the hairline you wont be going bald soon but do excpect hairloss in your life. Your dad having great hair at that age is a very very good sign. I dont see many guys who are bald at 30 but their dads have full hair at 60. It happens but its not common.

thanks man, would using a product like regain as a precautionary potentially have any negative effects. or is it best to not use anything at this stage.

If I was in your position I would not use anything just yet.

Bro, you’re not balding please get out there and enjoy life. Alopecia is tough, it will hit you hard like a hammer if you get it. It doesn’t cause imaginary temple recession. Stay away from meds of all kinds.

You really don’t think? My hair at the temples has receded considerably in the past year...

Is there hair loss on your mom's side? What about your mom's dad? Did he lose his hair?

You are between a Nw1 and Nw2. It is hard to say whether you could be at the very beginnings of male pattern baldness. I think you probably are not, but you still could be. I don't think you should start treatments now. Just keep an eye on your hair and see if you notice any obvious recession or thinning over the next few months. If so, report back to us on these forums at that point.

Haha thanks, it was a couple of years ago. Probably a pomade like uppercut I think
