My resting test was 887, so damn high. And I noticed once starting dutasteride that my seb derm got even more severe. Its verging on intolerable, and completely interfering with life due mainly to itching. I thus am back to finasteride, which was causing it on its own. I'm wondering how the hell I can lower my T a little while staying on finasteride. My SHBG is 44, which is good.
Did you start with finastride before transitioning to Duta? If so did you experience a set back in your growth/shedding during that process?
Yes, I added dutasteride on top, and then removed it three weeks later, all while staying on and continuing finasteride, never stopping it. The thing is, I got a hair transplant on my temples around the same time I started the dutasteride, which made me think it was actually shock loss, and it was hair that was coming out anyways. Its clear that finasteride eventually became too weak for me. That, + starting min, + the transplant = a massive change in hair texture, density, more loss, etc. I'm looking for a topical AA now or something else to add to the regimen.
Did you actually read any of this guys thread? He added dutasteride, oral minoxidil AND got a hair transplant, all at the same time. Scalp test is literally irrelevant for most people who's free T isn't already skyrocketing, and dutasteride is certainly not the reason this guy is shedding.
Nice broscience. Yet many studies of dutasteride show greater hair regrowth compared to finateride.

Okay now I’m worried there’s so much off and on about test does it cause hair loss or just dht.. I’m 2 months into dutasteride only taking it 3 times a week so far nothing in fact shedding more.. this sh*t gets annoying did a test and seen the endo today he said sir your dht isn’t even dectecabke I said okay then why isn’t my upper arm hair going away or thinning and why still hair shed
It just gets f*****g old.. also losingbattle if finasteride gave my reflex dutasteride would make it jump more correct?? The endo said Sean there’s no dht so even the receptors did upregulate there’s no dht to bind to.. and my test level was 273

No one and I mean no one has ever as far as I’m concerned said how to down regulate receptors, does anyone have any idea?? Also is 2 months on dutasteride to soon to tell?? There’s a thing on google where they said they can show dht levels and receptor density in the scalp with a biopsy so if I get it done and there tons of ar density then I know it’s reflex correct??
Did you read the post I sent you? It may be of help. But the only way to downregulate androgen receptors is to get on estradiol.
I did read it just not sure when it comes to the science type of stuff I have a hard time understanding.. also at what month should I said okay dutasteride isn’t working either?? I got this thing I can plug into my phone an it shows very up close pics of my scalp and it looks weird
2 Months dutasteride is too early. at month 7 my hair was worse on dutasteride. A year in even worse and 1.5 wayy worse. I wish I quit at 1 year at least. But got desperate and increased the dose instead.....
