Just wanted to update on my regimen. Started off with minoxidil and nizoral and 5 months later dutasteride back in the end 2015. Since then I went on to using s5 cream at the end of 2016. Still I’m receding. At this point I’m gonna just use what I have left of the dutasteride and let nature take its course and have a hair transplant after. Only 27 so seeing how aggressive it is on this regiment it shouldn’t take long anyways. Good luck to you all.

If you can and don't have side effects you could try to increase your dutasteride dose. Or else, try an alternative drug, like Sulfasalazine, Nac, Seti ....

I get s5 cream off this site. I would increase my dutasteride dosage if it was economically feasible. Where could I get those alternative drugs? Can I add it with dutasteride? No doubt it has at least slowed my loss but I would like to halt it at the least. Never expected regrowth to begin with anyways.

@zetta98 the S5 cream from here is crap. Keep using dutasteride and add in an anti androgen. So you would say dutasteride has slowed your loss down? How fast was it going initially and what Norwood are you?

Do you think it would be ok to add dutasteride along side finasteride?

Minor ball ache. I don’t take brand name as getting a prescription isn’t possible. Was getting it off this site but it’s no longer available.

Honestly it def thicken up my hair but the hairline has always constantly been shedding and receding the whole time to the point where I would have to shave my head anyways. Also recently been getting a tingling feeling on my right hairline (which has been always worse than the left side. In fact that’s where my hairloss first started. Just a shame that I go to the bigest gun to fight it and yet still not enough.

You could try to add in an extra pill of dutas like every two days or something.
Studies have shown that the difference between .5 mg a day and 1 mg a day of dutasteride made a very insignificant difference. So doing that every few days wouldn’t do anything if .5mg a day isn’t stopping the recession.

Dutasteride already is an anti androgen, mixing finasteride and dutasteride has never been proven to work.

I’ve been on dutasteride since 2 years ago. Used legit pharmacy prescribed .5mg and then got on dutasteride powder from p. H. G. And used that at 10mg which I am now on 2.5mg. My hairline is horrific now and my hair is thinner than baseline. Sometimes you can’t win and not all drugs are effective. If you have any itching OP, get daivobet or something to tackle that aspect from your derm and get blood work to see where you stand hormonally as well as an auto immune panel.

Worst comes to worse, transplant like you said. I will say, I used to use topical minoxidil and my hair was itchy as hell, yet way fuller and I am toying with using oral minoxidil at a decent dosage. Unfortunately, there are like no result pictures or testimonials anywhere from those who have used it orally.

dutasteride isn't an anti androgen its a 5ar type 1 and 2 inhibitor. An anti androgen is something like Androcur and Bicalutamide, even spironolactone in high doses. Would you say dutasteride accelerated your hair loss? I have some decent result pics from oral minoxidil on here before my shed started, its still ongoing and all my gains are gone unfortunately.

The hairline is a problem area for me too. spironolactone is definitely not the biggest gun in this fight. I would try Androcur as a next step, or topical estrogen on your hairline.. That may help.

Definitely update the oral minoxidil thread with pictures even through this shed. Also, I think you are slightly confused about what anti androgens are.. both dutasteride and finasteride ARE anti androgens.

Also, I wouldn’t say it accelerates it. I’m not sure why I’m still losing my hair. I’ve taken rediculously high doses of dutasteride and only on 10mg did I start to get libido sides. My erection quality is def less than before so it is impacting my dht levels, however test can sustain a sex drive and dutasteride and finasteride raise T levels

Meant dutasteride as the biggest gun. Never even bothered with finasteride as I figured why not hit this hairloss woth everything I got. What topical estrogen would you suggest? I’ll def look up androcur.
