Did Dr. Derimsoy do the implanting himself or just the extraction?
He does the extraction and the incisions, techs then place the grafts into the incisions, which is more involved than most surgeons I believe.

Still pleased with the results mate? I’m booked in with Demirsoy for Jan now, can’t wait to get out the way. Few more months of saving left lol

Hi guys,

I’ve just finished my surgery with Dr Erkan Demirsoy today for 2574 grafts. I’m 24 been on finasteride for 3 years and finally took the plunge and went for a hair transplant.

Everything from the hotel to transfers was arranged by them all I had to do was get my own flights and it has so far ran like clockwork. I have been really impressed with the attention to detail and professionalism of the clinic and would 100% recommend Dr Demirsoy and his team.

I will update this with my progress with monthly photos so anyone else thinking of going to Demirsoy can get a feel of his work. I will post some more photos in the next few days once I get the official before/afters from the clinic but here a few Iv taken myself just for now.

This is my first hair transplant so any advice on getting through the next few months would also be appreciated.

Nice but you will go bald at the back now unless you get another surgery
The back hasn’t gotten much worse since Iv been on finasteride, but yeah I think if I go for another surgery I’d get a few grafts at the back.
Not if he uses finasteride or decides to trasform into a woman.
Don’t think my hair is quite worth going Bruce Jenner V2

I think these results are very good considering your hair type. Do you have any closeups on the scarring on the back?

I'm considering Erkan because of the price.

Late reply but I will update once I can get a haircut, been 2 years this month so can see how it’s held up

So 2 year update, higher resolution camera and the lighting isn’t the same.

Still resigned to needing a 2nd transplant down the line with the vertex still being the problem area. I am considering adding RU to my regimen once covid passes and I can get some blood work done

That's a massive improvement compared to before. Just use finasteride/RU on the vertex and can use hair fibres when going out easily covered. Wait 2-3 years if you want to fix it more permanently with a transplant.

Cheers mate, yeah been on finasteride for 5 years already but considering adding RU shortly to see if it has any effect and will go from there, fibres aren’t really an option for me but I agree I should give it another 2-3 years before looking at another transplant.

There's no reason to have bw done before starting RU. It doesn't alter your hormones.
I would like to get them done to check my hormone levels in general having been on finasteride for some time, makes sense to get them done before I start RU so I have a relative starting point if I were to encounter any side effects.

Im sure your happy with your results but I think your taking your situation for granted a little.

Look at yourself at 2015, the progress you have made is remarkable. I don’t think your crown is bad enough to be eligible for a transplant. Also your front graphs should be permanent so your density loss in that area should be relative to none. I think once you age to 33/34 you’ll realize you have great hair compared to many people.

Either way, if I were in your shoes, I’d wait till mid 30’s to consider adding density.

Thanks mate.

Yeah I agree completely and maybe you have misconstrued my comments, I’m not actively looking to get another transplant, don’t get me wrong I would like to make improvements and get hair greed sometimes as I’m sure we all do haha.
For now I’m going to stick with my current regimen (maybe I’ll add in RU) and review where I’m at in 2-3 years maybe il need another hair transplant at that point maybe I won’t.

I definitely don’t downplay the improvements Iv had since 2015, it is humbling to look back and I definitely appreciate the results Iv been able to achieve.
