    Hi guys,

I’ve just finished my surgery with Dr Erkan Demirsoy today for 2574 grafts. I’m 24 been on finasteride for 3 years and finally took the plunge and went for a hair transplant.

Everything from the hotel to transfers was arranged by them all I had to do was get my own flights and it has so far ran like clockwork. I have been really impressed with the attention to detail and professionalism of the clinic and would 100% recommend Dr Demirsoy and his team.

I will update this with my progress with monthly photos so anyone else thinking of going to Demirsoy can get a feel of his work. I will post some more photos in the next few days once I get the official before/afters from the clinic but here a few Iv taken myself just for now.

This is my first hair transplant so any advice on getting through the next few months would also be appreciated.

And the after photos from the clinic, mix of immediately after and the following wash day, I plan on posting new pictures each month from now.

Fingers crossed for a good result.

Decided to update weekly for the first month as the changes are pretty drastic at this point, a few of the scabs did come off on day 5-6, but without blood at all so should be ok. The rest of the scabs I have removed today on day 7 as instructed by the clinic.

Any experienced members care to comment on how it’s looking so far?

2nd week and I feel like I’ve undergone a fair bit of shedding already, doesn’t feel great and the 6 month mark can’t come quick enough, but it’s all part of the game.

3rd week, didn’t think my midscalp and vertex was this bad before I went for the transplant, maybe it will look different when it grows out again as it looked ok before, definitely will be needing a 2nd procedure after this one at some point either way.

Week 4, starting back in the gym today and cut my back and sides a bit to clean it up. Using minoxidil again now my next update will be at the 2 month mark.

Looks like most of the redness has gone, by week 4 that is a real bonus! I think you will have a good result.

The first 3 months are brutal, have faith and you will see results by 6 months.

Month 2, nothing to report so far as is expected in the 2nd month other than my hair being longer so doesn’t look as bad in normal conditions.

I would say I was like a Norwood 3 with diffuse, so I’m not the best candidate for a hair transplant especially at my age aswell but Iv done my research and I know the risks life’s too short to be worrying about your hair loss every day.

Iv put some more pics from the week before I went to Turkey so you can have a better idea.

Have you had a transplant yourself?

Thanks for your reply. Nope, no transplant yet. I’m diffusing in a Norwood 5a/6 pattern so I understand.

I see your recession but didn’t really see diffusion. Maybe the camera doesn’t pick it up so good.

And yes, I completely understand going for the transplant - come what may. Hair loss has taken so much - you reach a point where you have to stop the bleeding.

    Would you have considered FUT?

Ahh right I see, have you sent pics to any surgeons?

Yeah exactly man had to do something about it, hopefully can forget about hairloss for a few years once these grafts grow in.

FUT probably is the better option for a first transplant as you get a better yield and graft survival so looking back I maybe should have gone for that. It was the strip scar that put me off but from what Iv seen they’re actually pretty unnoticeable.
