...when you notice more scalp is showing then you noticed the night before? You panic, try to style your hair differently to cover it up but it just doesn't look the same as before. You try to fool yourself into thinking that it's all the greasy topicals making your hair look thin or the fact that you haven't shampooed in a few days, but eventually you accept that you have reached a "higher" level of baldness. Had one of these moments this week and it sucked! What hurts most is that I am losing the fight even though I am armed to the teeth with all the pills and topicals mordern medicine offers. F**K Hairloss!!!

Yeah I know what you're talking about, and that's exactly why I don't look at my hair under strong lighting. My bathroom light is just a killer, it's the brightest bathroom light I've ever seen.

Trust me guys thats how it happens. As someone who lost it all and was'nt on treatments, I can remember the days when you wake up and it seems to have happened overnight. You think "I'm sure it was'nt this bad yesterday" then you accept that you are a Norwood 3-4-5...
It puts it into perspective to all you guys worrying about a few hairs on the pillow. One day you may not have any left to shed.

How young were you when you become a NW6? Because I believe that I will be at least NW5 in one year or two, 3 at max. I will be almost 28 in 3 years and I think even that is young to be a NW5.

There's this guy who plays football in the same group with me, he's probably a few years older than me and has been NW6 for at least 2 years. I think he looks good with a shaved head, though so lucky him.

Your regimen is not as good as you think it is. AC spray is not a copper peptide anymore. Look on the ingredients. The new version says copper gluconate becauase they got tired of paying royalties. Try putting the green tea on your head instead of just drinking it. Try revivogen instead of emu oil.

I was a nw3 at about 25/26 and then I shaved it after that it became difficult to tell so much as the rest of my hair began to turn to miniturised/peach fuzz (vellous) hair, but by 28/29 the only growable hair was my nw5/6 horseshoe.
Having seen your hair I dont think you will be a nw6 by 28 even if the treatments dont work for you I think it would still take at least another 5 yrs to get that far.

I think if I'd have got on finasteride/dutasteride at 25 I could have stopped it from progressing at least past nw4 or maybe just slowed it right down alot.

The amount of hair I've lost in a year suggests that I won't have growable hair on the top for much longer, it's the same with my twin brother. Yeah yeah I'm on treatments, the only downside is that they aren't giving me anything except sides. A couple of days ago I took a picture of the top of my head and guess what? The flash ate all the fuzzy hair, it was like I had no hair at all.

GHG, I seriously doubt you will ever get past a Norwood 2 for the next 20 years. Your hair is just fine hair. I honestly think you have nothing to worry about.

You think I saved it? I thought about posting it just to prove a point, but I think I know my hair best. I can take another one when I get the camera from my parents again.

Having fine hair has nothing to do with this, DoctorHouse. My hair is fine on the sides and back aswell but there's about 2x more hair there. Well of course the fact that it's "lying down" on the sides and "up" on the top makes a part of the difference, but I can't see through my side hair even when it's lifted.

I am already using Tricomin (switched from AC). I heard mixed stuff about Revivogen (some say it's a scam). Why do you recommend it? Also I know you are into the bodybuilding scene too. Have you used NO-Xplode. If so any thought on that or an arginine (sp) based product. Any impact on hairloss?

I have read somewhere ages ago that L-Arginine supplements can actually increase hair growth, but it hasn't been proven. I have been supplementing with it for a while again now because of its muscle building, blood flow and sexual enhancement qualities. I still reckon it's the most powerful supplement one can get for bodybuilding and general health (apart from steroids, of course).

Here's an interesting piece of information. L-Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid which the body uses to produce nitric oxide (NO), which in turn is used for its various functions. Minoxidil has the same chemical structure as nitric oxide and was originally used as a vasodilator (taken orally) to treat high blood pressure. So in effect, minoxidil taken orally, would have the same benefits as supplementing with L-Arginine would.

...makes you wonder if there's a connection between L-Arginine supplements and hair growth. I've never actually researched it, but when I used to buy the Muscle & Fitness magazine they had an article in one of their issues about nitric oxide supplementation, and hair growth was one of the alleged benefits.

So I wouldn't base any drastic change of regimen on this theory - I use it for other reasons - but hey, any extra help with the treatment would be nice!! It is fairly expensive though and tastes and smells like ***....

...anyway, I thought it was interesting.

Why are you on 0.5mg of finasteride? Did you get sides?

You might want to consider topical spironolactone or revivogen for added anti-androgen effects since you are only taking .5

Yeah I did get sides, and still do. Gyno, sleepyness, acne, softer erection and liquidy semen, you name it. Where can I get topical spironolactone from? I might consider it if it's not too expensive. Just ordered 3 month supply of Rogaine foam, after I've used them I've been on the foam for about 6 months, that should tell if it's working for me or not.
