Does your hair part as you grow it? (pics)

Bit of an odd question, but I was trying to find this out on the internet however I'm not sure I was wording it propertly. I last posted here about a year and a half ago (thread:

In that thread, there are several pics of my hairline while I though I was losing hair. Since that time, I grew my hair out to lengths I've never had before. As time grew by, I quickly stop worrying so much about my hair until very recently, when I noticed the left side of my hairline seem to look thin.

This is what my hair looked six months ago, except for the first pic, which is how it looked like about three weeks ago before I got a haircut.

This is how it was recently. Since then I have trimmed down my hair significantly. As you can see, my right side looks really thin. I do think I have an explanation, as my hair grew, it became increasingly heavier, to the point where when ever I when to bed, my hair would immediately split as the weight of my left side was kept untouched while I usually would trim my right each time I visited the barber. I am uncertain if the weight of my left side has left the scalp area much noticeable, or if I should just consult a derm about this issue. Which is why I return to you to see if anyone can explain what is happening. As I've said, My left side has basically stayed the same until recently as I grew tired of it splitting my hair, and decided to cut it myself, so I am unsure if this is the result of a bad trimming job, or it is the weight of my hair, or just male pattern baldness. I would like your opinion on the matter, and maybe if some people could shed some light on the matter if growing your hair out affects your hairline, because it has for me.

By the way, the last picture shows how my hair looked swept back 6 months ago, showing that my scalp line was visible still all that time ago.

You have a mature hairline that some would say is the first sign of a receding hairline but overall your hair looks good. How old are you and what is your family genetic history of hair loss?

Hello, thanks for replying, I recently turned 22. To keep it short, my father is bald, but his father and his father's father, had a full set of hair (my grandfather's head did recede, but that was mostly because of his age, so it's understandable). No one in my mom's side is bald either, only her dad is receeding, but again, it is due to age. My dad has a brother, and he still has hair well unto his mid 50's, so my dad is the odd one out.

My mom says that my father's grandad from his mom's side was bald, so he's the main source as to why he is the way he is.
