Does the Quality of the Hair Matter More Than the Extension Method?

I’ve been researching hair extensions for a while now, and the more I read, the more confused I get.


Every salon seems to recommend a different method. Some say keratin bonds are the most natural, others recommend tape-ins, hand-tied wefts, or invisible bead extensions. It makes me wonder whether the application method is really the deciding factor, or if the quality of the hair itself is what makes the biggest difference.


For those of you who have been wearing extensions for a while:

• Did premium Remy hair actually last longer than cheaper alternatives?
• Was the installation more important than the extension method?
• Have your extensions made styling easier, or do they require more work than you expected?
• Did you experience any damage to your natural hair?
• If you were starting over today, what would you choose differently?
