Does Anyone Else Around Here Have Longer Hair?

I feel like everyone here has a shorter hairstyle than me. I think if your hairloss isn't too severe, you can still pull off a longer hairstyle. Any other balding bros with longer hair?

I rocked the alternative/emo hairstyle with the bangs from 13 to 20 ( I'm 21 and have 'short' hair now ). My loss isn't that bad yet but even for my longer hairstyle I could see that my bangs were getting thinner and 'gappy' which maybe wouldn't be noticeable to the average full head but a norwood spotter could tell a mile away, also my hairstyle didn't look as good as it used to. From my experience I actually find shorter hair styles conceal loss better. My hair looks a lot thicker short, sure I have some mild recession on display but it definitely beats having the wind blowing in my long hair and exposing my hairline for the world to see.

I see that you're on finasteride and minoxidil, have you seen regrowth or just maintenance? Maybe you could grow it out if your hair gets thicker from the treatment. I started finasteride some weeks ago and I'm hoping it can add some volume to my ever growing locks. Part of my desire for long hair has to do with the fact that when my hair was super thick I took it for granted, and never tried risque hair styles.

Well finasteride actually made my hair loss worse.. But minoxidil for a while yielded good regrowth and thickening until I was forced to switch brands everything went down hill :( Right now no success and shedding heavily but I hope things get better in a few months! Hopefully I can have long hair again.. I miss it.

Well there's hope, a lot of new drugs are almost ready to be FDA approved.

Yeah the pompadour is a great style, but I'm personally too lazy to try and style it.

I’m still early on in terms of loss. 2 years diffuse. Have long hair, 8in +

Much more difficult to wash, dry style without yanking our a ton of hair. I dread showers as the shedding is madness. Also occasionally loose man bun for gym etc. and I worry it puts stress on the follicles.

Been debating going shorter to help this aspect versus the extra coverage from the long hair.

I posted some pictures recently showing the difference between my hair when it was very short and grown out. The difference was striking; When my hair is grown out it looks like a thick, full head and I've actually had comments about my "thick curly hair" and (wait for it) "oh, you'll never go bald" lol.
Of course your Norwood can make a difference, there's a certain stage where growing it out just looks silly. I also think your hair type makes a difference as well; Generally guys with curly/wiry hair have a better cover game when they grow it long. My hair is also thick where it isn't balding which helps too.
Basically if you decide to cut it very short or shave it be prepared to find out how bald you really are!
