Different hairstyle...

Since my uneven hairline really can't pull off a caesar haircut once it gets to the scar on my forehead as it looks more wispy, I decided to try a different style. Do you think this shows off my hairloss or hides it a little better?

Even though I feel about six to eight years older, it also looks a little bit like a wig, I still feel a bit more confident than with the caesar.

What do you think?

Obsidian, for us combing and styling is very hard. Got damn. Now i have a mix of odd cutting/emo hairstyle and most of the times it looks terrible :| .

Obsidian, honestly I think asking women would be the best choice. But that hairstyle is way better than your bangs combed forward. I would keep it like that. It does not make you look older. Good job :bravo:!!! I thought the other hairstyle makes you look geeky where this one makes you look cool. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah looks better than pushed forward.

But personally I would cut it shorter again and get your hairstylist to chip into it creating a rough look giving your hair the appearance of more volume. Then buy some texturizing styling putty and go for a messy spikey look push the hair forward on the temples but up on the forelock....Its an effective look and the ladies love it. But i can no longer pull this look off anymore.

I got something like that too, but my right temple has receded way much too far. I think I'm gonna cut it short and comb forward. Perhaps I will lose less hair with a short haircut too.

You're good dude, stop worrying and just enjoy your hair because at least you still have hair to style. I am going on NW6 and it has ruined my life. It really pisses me off when guys with full heads of hair come on here complaining that they are going bald. They have no f*****g idea. Image how crappy a feeling it is knowing all these people are jumping through hoops because they are terrified of winding up looking like you. I see your picture and wonder what you are doing on a hairloss forum, since it is obvious you have none.

I'm sort of sceptical of this guy's hair loss, too, but realise male pattern baldness obviously isn't very visible in its very early stages. It's natural to freak out when you have always taken your hair for granted, and then realise that you might be balding pretty badly in only a few years, especially if you're very young. I'm much less bothered about hair loss now that I'm used to it, than when I found out about it, personally.

To the OP: I agree it looks way better than the combed straight forward look. I can only wish my hair looked like a wig!

Looks good dude. Doesn't look like you have any hair loss at all.

Remember, the only people with a trained eye to spot hair loss are other guys who are experiencing it themselves. Nobody else would ever notice.

Hell, before I started thinning I didn't even realize Jude Law was balding.

Uncomfortable man, I agree with you. People like Obsidian and myself should not worry too much about our hair but sometimes you cannot change who we are. I am BDD inflicted person and no matter what you say, its not going to change how I see myself. But you are right that these minor factors should be a blessing. Its a psychological disorder that is not easy to overcome due to living in a society full of so much competition. Your situation is definitely alot worse but still the advice would be the same for yourself. Stop worrying about what other people think.

I understand House since I too have BDD, which might promt someone to try and comfort me by saying "It's all in your head.". The difference is that I am not the only one that sees myself as a monster. The looks, stares, whispers and even pointing that I get out in public tells me that other people can see it too. The problem is not in my head, it is my head! There is a difference, an obvious distinction between people like myself, Hatprisoner and you, the OP and nearly everyone else on this forum because I'm sure neither you or obsidian have had to face humiliating ridicule from perfect strangers whilst you are minding your own business. CIP, I was waiting outside of a Barnes and Noble for a friend to pick me up when this woman having lunch with her girlfriends at a nearby table calls out to me and says, "Hey you, do you think you can go stand somewhere else? You're making us loose our appetites, ha ha ha." Then she high fived her friends. Anything like that happen to you recently?

UC, that is horrible. I feel for you. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make you look like a male model but we know that is not happening. That is ok, I believe in karma, those people who have mocked you will have some bad karma coming their way when they least expect it. I would have told them, you girls could afford to lose your appetites, it might help get rid of the fat around you waist( I wouldn't even care if they were skinny I would still say it), so I am not going anywhere. Actually, I am standing here for entertainment. And so far, I am rather disappointed in what I have seen so far( looking straight at them). Just remember, there are a few gems in all the trash we encounter. Just find them and hold on to them like gold. I have a few good friends and that is enough. I am no social butterfly. I don't want to hijack Obsidian's thread but I was trying to help him because I just hope he does not become obsessed with his hair( whether he is losing it or not) to the point he avoids having the best time of his life at the age he is at. Luckily, at his age the only thing I was obsessed with was trying to keep my face blemish free and trying to build a decent physique. Hairloss was never an issue.

Nah no worries man, I mean to be honest sometimes when I do think about it I whine about something that is insignificant compared to say something I need to worry about now (getting my finance degree and then getting into grad school) or long-term health (heart disease and diabetes runs heavily in my family so I have started to take better care of my body at an early age). I guess maybe I am still at that superficial age where you are at college and see guys fresh out of high school and you want to be that again. Sadly, I am a worry-wart like my Mother but I am trying so hard not to care besides, some of the guys girls love the most have mature hairlines or one of the top ten business guys in the state I know has a NW4. Still that doesn't make a difference, he says just less time in the shower. While it is easier said than done, I shouldn't be on here worrying about this 24/7, I noticed when I finally cut my hair how many girls started looking at me even more with smiles.

The one thing I tell myself though when I start thinking too much is "Hair loss does not happen over night, if it was here today it will be here tomorrow."

Well. There is a bit of a shift but still your advice holds for yourself. Imagine a disabled person wishing to be you because you can walk see or have all the limbs, etc...

According to wiki:

"The World Health Organization, for example, estimates that there are as many as 600 million persons with disabilities. The United Nations estimate is 650 million. In the United States, for example, Americans with disabilities constitute the third-largest minority (after persons of Hispanic origin and African Americans); all three of those minority groups number in the 30-some millions in America. According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, as of 2004, there were some 32 million adults (aged 18 or over) in the United States, plus another 5 million children and youth (under age 18)."

10%. That's a lot.
