Difference a flash makes and possible new regimen. W/PICS

Hi all,

A bit of my history....I noticed my hair loss about 3 years ago for the first time....I have a generally full head of hair but my crown/vertex area was thinning noticeably and my temples were receding a little bit. I started using Finpecia and added Nizoral/Tricomin and the results were great for 2 years. Although my crown never filled in, the hair loss slowed down big time and there was definitely an overall improvement in my crown area.

For the first time in 3 years, I am noticing an increased shed again (about 50-80 instead of 5-20 that I can count). I am not sure if it is seasonal or male pattern baldness catching up but I am worried. I took a pic with a flash when my hair was wet for the first time today on my crown and almost had a coronary. I also took a pic with no flash and it does not look as bad. I put up both pics here.

I don't know if you can tell but I do have a lot of hair surrounding it and I can disguise it easily enough when my hair is dry.

Should I change my regimen from what it is? I am thinking of using Eucapil to inhibit more DHT (still have to figure out how to order it in the US). I want to postpone using minoxidil as I don't want to go through the hassle of applying it twice a day, if I don't have to. What else can I do...should I add anything else to the regimen. Since I am getting married soon, dutasteride is not really an option because of its huge half life. Any other topical?

I don't think my hair loss falls under any Norwood scale....what would you guys call it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You look as if you still have a lot of hair. Yes the flash is quite criminal, I wouldn't sweat it that much. As for you're regimen, I wouldn't change it yet, just keep track of it with pics, it might me a seasonal thing. Recently I had a shed too and lost some hair but I'm back to normal (check my regimen)...I haven't changed a thing.

i think your hair is great...it was just the flash that makes it look bad.

you def have good shiny hair... stick with that regimen and if it does for some reason get much worse post a pic and we'll all tell you and then you can always throw in rogaine.

That's nothing, dude. Not even sure that is male pattern baldness thinning. I took a photo of my mate's crown with the flash on, he has no male pattern baldness whatsoever and it looked worse than that.

Thanks Guys

Thanks for your input guys. I have seen this increased shedding since the last 1-2 months. Earlier, when I washed my hair, I used to count about 3-5 in the shower (the drain is one of those types where the hair does not get trapped....so there is no way to tell how many actually are shed) and 5-10 while styling after. Now I can count 5-10 in the shower and 20-40 while styling. I am hoping it is seasonal and will stop. One change that I did make after the increase in the shedding was to move from Finpecia to Proscar (1.25Mg). I will give it 2-3 more months. But if it does not, then I am thinking about adding Eucapil. I actually wanted to add it now but menspharma.com is acting funny. I tried adding a 2 month supply to the shopping cart and instead of showing the item it has a long text string in the shopping cart. I emailed the admin about it on Friday last week and have not heard so far from him. Hope they are not out of business.
