depressed that there's still no cure after waiting so long

i remember i first started thinking of hair loss back in 2014 and checking hair loss forums. back then i thought there might be a chance we at least see something but then i looked back at old posts and saw people doing the same thing 10-20 years ago.

it sucks we've gone from flip phones to ultra processer smartphones, giant flat screen tv's, automatic driving electric cars, and all that but there's still not really even a promising study for a hair loss cure. the current cures we have are pretty decent and definitely better than nothing but it sucks there's nothing you can really do if your hair loss has progressed or after awhile when the treatments stop working there's not much you can do.

these treatments are really only good if you catch it early, have no side effects, and you have to stay on top of it and if your hair loss is really severe then you need to rub creams on your head, use droppers, pop pills, order weird chemicals off the internet, etc. i'm really terrified of surgery and needles and a hair transplant surgery looks so stressful to me it looks like a nightmare. i dunno maybe i can just rub oils on my head and take pills and try to last until a cure finally comes out or just give up on my hair eventually

That’s because humans are more complicated than phones or cars with some micro transistors and moving parts. The pathways and chemicals involved are highly convoluted with functions throughout the body.

You making this post just shows your ignorance about how complex the human body is and in fact, the progress that science has made about our knowledge of human body since 2014, it’s massive.

But I don’t blame you for being surprised, to be fed the belief that humans came from nothing due to pure chance leads to the expectations that human bodies are simple like cars lol. The reality though is that humans are extremely complex proof of being created by a Creator with functions that are still beyond our understanding.

Anyway, a lot has changed since 2014. The fearmongering against finasteride is effectively dismantled, Hair transplants have gotten a lot better, our knowledge of hairloss has increased discovering role of wnt pathway/prolactin/Botox mechanism of action for hairloss ( not scalp tension BS)….how can you be so gloomy.

Hair transplants have not gotten better overall. I would argue that on average they've gotten worse. You have a ton of new practices with little to no time on tissue who sell cheap options but it's a total scam. Hair mills are all over turkey. It's harder to navigate this space because of all the con artists and rip offs that could f*** you up forever.

Probably true. I've seen some horrible botch jobs recently. You can't just simply assume a straight correlation between technical innovation and results ( at least not for the average consumer ). In an effort to cut costs, many of the transplants in Turkey are done by technicians, in theory, under the supervision of a surgeon. This may not be an issue when it comes to packing the crown or vertex, but when designing and creating a new, aesthetically appealing hairline, a lot of talent and expertise is required

They claim the surgeon still works on those intricate areas himself, but some results have made me doubt that tbh

I have a lot of experience seeing Zarev cases (a friend of mine was a repr and had access to all cases). It's real, he is like an american psycho and does sometimes 12h long interventions (just look at his body and face lmao). The only thing is that he is extremely picky in his patients. If they dont have literal perfect donor and conditions he won't transplant them, so that artificially inflates his results vs what is normal for a normal surgeon. Probably he rejects more than half of people who ask him.

i get what you mean.

interesting to know. so basically he only accepts european guys with coarse bulgarian donor hair and no signs of retrograde alopecia.

all top surgeons won't even transplant you without lifetime finasteride unless you are 40yo with a nw2 hairline

I created my first account here circa 2005/2006. I still remember that people were upset that we still did not have better treatments than finasteride and minoxidil. Cure was always just behind the corner. It truely is sad that after all this time, we still have to deal with these rather barbaric treatments for hair loss. Nowadays I also feel sad that I have spent so many years and energy for this sh*t, reading articles and worrying about my hairline - 17 years already. If I could just give one advice, I would suggest to take one route and stick with it. So start finasteride or accept hairloss - shave it or just let it be as it is, embrace it. Whatever you would choose, do not spend energy on this.

To be honest, these high expectations are cause of naivety or ignorance. I made a thread not long ago explaining why there will never be a cure for hairloss and I was boo’ed harshly.

The odds aren’t in our favour whether you look at it from science angle or the corporate angle, more so baldies are disadvantaged from the corporate money angle. I have gone into details why.

So yeah you’re correct. The only way something might happen is through chance, minoxidil/finasteride both weren’t developed for hairloss but hair benefits were noticed as side effects. That’s our only chance with a cure for hairloss, some side effects like recently with PRLR mAb HMI 115

I'm actually more hopeful for treatments on scar tissue. This is something that has more applications than just linear scars on FUT. I think we will see this first and then a lot of guys will get FUT with less scarring and at least have their frontal third covered.

I met a guy 2 weeks ago who was just bald in the crown and he does a very short buzz cut, like .5mm. Since he has a hairline and his frontal third, he still looks ok. A quality surgeon could give even a Norwood 6/7 this (with no retrograde alopecia). The front is a lot more important for a short buzz cut.

How old are you?

I rarely see people 30+ with absolutely no signs of hairloss. Also, only 2 million people are on finasteride in the US (prob a couple hundred thousand on it for BPH) and around 600k have hair transplants per year (2 mil and 600k prob have high levels of cross over). It seems as though the majority of people just go bald and accept it because after 35 its unlikely you will not be showing any hairloss.

I've been on this sh*t since 2012. Treatments suck and may only slow it down and that's assuming it's doing anything. My cumshots are crappy watery stuff now while on my early 20's I used to c*m truckloads. And don't give me the cope of "oh now you are older" when Manuel Ferrara is cumming buckets on his 40's and with a NW1.

Truth is, my life was ruined due premature ejaculation anyway so who cares, but I still wanted hair to not get looked like im a criminal by cashiers and escorts. And now that I have money they will ban escorts soon as well. It is all so tiresome.

I relate to the ejaculation problem. My cumshots sucks too, less Force than before and less c*m sometimes. On dutasteride for 1.5 I ended up Ejaculating 1 drop of semen and it didnt help My hair at all it accelerated instead hahhaa. Now when being on finasteride only My c*m shots are alot better but can still be bad with No Force just oozing semen hate that. But weirdly My semen is just as thick as before all this and never watery.

Its more lucrative for the Mercks & Pfizers of the world to create treatments, not cures.

It is really very sad that there is no progress. By the way, I really like to read about some research and I read about hair loss as well. My dad is already completely bald and he is not upset about it. But his friend is very angry that he can do almost nothing about it. I think they should do more research
