Re: To foam it or not ( W/Pics) Month 1

The big 3's not your last port of call, mate. Don't feel you have to quit what you're doing to head off in a search for the elixir of life. I'd suggest you consider looking at other stuff you can do to help your hair while carrying on with the minoxidil and finasteride, if you feel it's maintaining.

Regrowth.com is probably a better place to find dudes playing with simple, so-called 'natural' ways of helping your situation. Go build yourself a laser helmet or something. Most of the good responders I read about are doing something else on top of the Big 3 that other posters consider "ridiculous" and coincidental. It's a big ol' world out there.

edit: your = you're
How embarrassment.

hey man, hair looks good. it may be a bit thinner on the left hand side tho...but! it still looks awesome. all you can do is stay on the medications and definately propecia/proscar. im sure u could stop the foam if you want as there is little minutarizing of your hair and i doubt itd make a big difference.

oh yeah if your name death is about the band. theyre so rad. lack of comphrehension is beastly

I agree with Dreamstreet, your hair still looks good. Frankly, I think you're stressing way too much over this. Believe me, I've been there. Hell, probably most of us on this site have been there and were overpreoccupied with hairloss at one time or another.

I was losing my hair when there was nothing on the scene except the "snake oil" stuff. That was my reason for overstressing because I felt I had no hope; once it's gone, it's gone!

Today, I'm on the big 3 and even though I'm in my 40's, I'm responding better than I expected, and I assure you, it's not coincidental or ridiculous in my case. But like someone mentioned earlier, it's not for everyone.

As an Norwood 3 (and improving), I'll gladly switch my hairline and bald spot with your hair. I think I'll get the better end of the deal.

I don't think it looks that bad, hell your long hair looks better than mine around this time last year.

Besides you ever notice how most metal bands most guys hair is thinning too? Chuck from Death was thinning in the front.

Not read every post in the thread, but the propecia will keep what you have, but you want regrowth on the sides, firstly, you caught it early which is the best time for regrowth, and you are currently taking the best drug for regrowth on the sides imo...one month is too early to tell 4 months in you'll know for sure if its doing something.

Worse comes to worst, or if you just can't wait then i recommend a concealer on the sides to thicken up the appearance. i.e kersome, which i use, and it works a treat.

I wouldn't say that, look at Bjorn from In Flames, I thought that guy would have a full head of hair forever but looked what happened.

Here are my pics using the big 3, You guys be the judge if it's working for me or not. Bear in mind, I've been losing my hair for 26 years so my results may not be the same as someone younger.

Ok, I'm gonna be honest here, so forgive my bluntness in advance.

Yes, there is a definite improvement. HOWEVER, may I PLEASE suggest a different hairstyle? If I saw you on the street I would immediately think: 'Combover!'

It is obvious you are thinning-not bald-thinning. Embrace that and go to a GOOD stylist and have them give you a great haircut that will not hide that fact and actually give you an acceptable look.

I have a buddy who was thinning and kept his hair real long to hide it. I told him the same thing. He want to a stylist, the girl cleaned him up and did her thing, and he emerged a dude with thinning hair but looked a thousand times better.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for your constructive criticism and I'll take your suggestion under advisement. Actually, I'm a victim of a really bad haircut and it usually doesn't look this bad (I think). In any case, it really isn't my best side. But for the purposes of this discussion, I present you with me, at my most vunerable.

I don't want to shave my head but would like to find the right style to go with my thinness. Perhaps it's time I go to a better stylist than the ones I've been going to of late.

You see Death, your hair doesn't look that bad after all. I'm still open to a trade anytime.

This is the reason that I like this site. People are usually very direct here and it takes a baldy, to understand the psychology of a baldy. I wish you the best, JWM.

Lighten up, Death. Your thread is safe. Just wanted you to compare your situation to mine and let others judge my progress (or lack thereof). Anyhow, I hope you realize that your "hairloss" is not as dire as you make it seem. Your hair still looks great, in fact, better than mine did when I was your age.

To answer your question, I read somewhere else that some people are applying the liquid at night since it's messy while still using the foam in the daytime. Some are pretty adamant that liquid works better. I'm willing to try it just to see if it works for me or not. Why not just experiment and see if this will work for you as well?

Good luck, man.

I nowhere see the word compare nor anything that suggest it but its ok.....I think for more commenting on your ordeal....you should start your own thread but its kool if you feel like at home on mine

by the way how old are you jcosta?

Hello Death. If you read the third paragragh where it says "You see Death, your hair doesn't look that bad after all. I'm still open to a trade anytime", you'll notice that I addressed you specifically so that you can compare your "hairloss" to mine.

I posted this before your response and tried to keep you as part of the discussion. I'm sorry you didn't realize this.

I try using my "ordeal" so to speak, to try to help others and say what worked for me and what didn't. It sickens me when members turn on each other, though.

I wonder, can't people be civil with one another and not throw insults back and forth over something as trivial as hairloss? Most, if not all of us, do not want to lose their hair. That's why we're here. But it's not life-threatening, thank God.

I visit this site because there is a lot of good information once you wade through all of the pointless bickering. That's how I discovered the Big 3. I posted the pics because some members on your thread alluded that the Big 3 does not work. Aside from my bad hairdo, according to one member, I feel that I have made some progress. It's not spectacular, and I don't have the same hair as Brad Pitt, but "any" progress is a step forward.

To answer your question I'm 44. So figure if treatments can work for an older guy like me, just think how much better these products "might" work for you. I'm going to try the liquid minoxidil to try to see if this gives me better results.

You're lucky Death, you caught this early and you have many options. All you have to do is find the right one.

Thanks for the advice, but I do not wish to start a new thread that most people probably won't visit. Yours is an active one and I felt my pics were relevant to the discussion. I hope I've helped and given you moral support. That has always been my intention. Take care.

I WISH Propecia would at least help you KEEP what you have. If that were really the case, I would have never logged into this forum. I had great hair before I started taking Propecia and using Rogaine. Now I have lost more in just over 2 years when I started using Propecia. So I guess Propecia may slow down balding but I do not think it will keep what you have. My only goal was to keep what I had but unfortunately did not happen and trust me I started using Propecia with very very minimal hair loss. :sobbing:

Sorry to hear about this. Sounds like this might lend to what some people say that ALL of your hair becomes dependent until eventually the medication doesn't work at all. I'm hoping that this is not the case or I'm screwed.
