Hi Gents,
I am looking to get some opinions as to what I should do next. I am 36 and have had hair loss for about 10 years. I noticed the top of my hair was not just as thick as the rest of the hair at 26 (diffuse thinning all over the top) but did nothing about it untill about 5 years ago. I tried a number of "natural" remedies (including Zix) with some success but noticed the crown continued to thin.
dutasteride, finasteride and Propecia are not possible for me due to previous illness that I don't want to mess with.
I am currently on 5% minoxidil twice a day, Skinoren (Azelaic acid) twice a day, Nizoral 2% shampoo 3 times a week, Revita 4 times a week, take multivitamins, eat healthly and am fit and healthy. This has been my regime for 2 years. The top front of my hair has thickened up fully as it was when I was 20, however, my crown has thinned so much I now am at the stage of having a bald patch. Males on my mum's side all have thick wild hair and on my dad's side only have receding hairlines (which eventually go far back as they hit 60). My brother is 40 and still has thick hair all over. (and I know I am not adopted! LOL!)
So, the question is, what other topical can I add to help? Nizoral cream? dermaroller? Laser? (assume lasers don't work)?
I am very close to giving up and stopping all the hairloss meds, because my hair looks crap anyway! Any opinions welcome, as I plan to give it to the summer then get out the shaver!
Thanks, Silver.
