who cares what you call it. The important fact is that you have all your follicles. They are just a little smaller. You are a prime candidate for hair loss topicals and drugs. Do NOT let a hair transplant surgeon work on you. You can easily regrow it all from what I can see. Maybe in two years from now you can think about lowering your hair line 1/4 inch with surgery if it bothers you, but I can't see how high your hairline is in this picture. It looks like it is in a good place.
I wish I had all my follicles in my very front. But I'm sure I'll regrow all the thin stuff on top and in my frontal tuff, and maybe a few hairs in the temples. But I'll probably get my 4th hair tranplant to the very front 1/4 inch in another 8 months if I don't see any fuzz grow there.
Gardener,
thanks. When my hair grows out a bit, my crown looks remarkable... There's a swirl there, but no obvious bald spot... I hope it's just the style that's making it look a bit thinner.
College Chem,
thanks for your opinion. There's no way in hell I'm going to let a hair transplant surgeon touch or even look at my head for a long time. I think I'm starting to come to terms with my baldness. I think I'd rather let my meds run their course and try everything in my power before I talk to Dr. Armani or H&W.
My hairline is a bit high on my forhead, but it's always been that way. I'm not too concerned with it.
Going@20,
thanks my friend, I'm really hoping for the best. This is the worst I've seen my hair, but it's with flash, wet, and a #2 buzzcut, so I don't think it's that bad in person.
It's a famous little piece of Texas history. The "Come and Take It" flag was flown in 1835 at Gonzales, TX when Santa Anna ordered the disarmament of "Texians." Specifically, he wanted a cannon seized. It goes without saying that the colonists did not accommodate. The wives of the colonists sewed the flag to taunt/mock the Mexican forces, who eventually retreated once they were met with significant resistance. This little skirmish was the beginning of the Texas Revolution.
I didn't tell it too well, but it's a neat (and amusing) story.
For starters you're definately not nw3 but the amout of loss you have really cant be gauged by one picture... Pictures are very decieving... in one pic your hair can look great in the next it can look like crap..
Post up some pics from a bunch of different angles to give us a real idea of where you sit.
I turned 23 in may. I noticed loss around your age. I believe stressing out about my loss has caused me more loss than before. I got on propecia right away and now I kinda wish I didnt. Now it seems I lose alot more hair than before.. You need to be young while you're young and enjoy your life otherwise you'll end up depressed all the time.. If you look good rocking the shaved look you're set..

Your hair looks good, honestly. To me, it looks like no noticeable signs of balding on the crown, just some temple recession. An NW2 has the "island" in front, you're not even there. I'd say currently you're an NW1.5.
when you take pics you should take them from the exact anlge so you can compare acurately.
Your hair looks fine if you ask me. I doubt anyone will look at you and say "omg he's going bald".. Just keep on your meds since you've started them and forget about hairloss.
