Is it a Norwood 2 or 3?

Diffuse thinning?

It's buzzed right now, but it reveals the recession and everything a bit better.

You have an NW2v diffuse

From a Norwood perspective, not that bad as you still have a good amount of coverage... But, you do show some vertex diffusion.

who cares what you call it. The important fact is that you have all your follicles. They are just a little smaller. You are a prime candidate for hair loss topicals and drugs. Do NOT let a hair transplant surgeon work on you. You can easily regrow it all from what I can see. Maybe in two years from now you can think about lowering your hair line 1/4 inch with surgery if it bothers you, but I can't see how high your hairline is in this picture. It looks like it is in a good place.

I wish I had all my follicles in my very front. But I'm sure I'll regrow all the thin stuff on top and in my frontal tuff, and maybe a few hairs in the temples. But I'll probably get my 4th hair tranplant to the very front 1/4 inch in another 8 months if I don't see any fuzz grow there.

That is a good head of hair. Looks like a Norwood 1.5 with a little diffuse. Before you know it you will have all your hair back, goodluck

That shot was taken fresh out of the shower, with a buzzcut "#2", with the flash on... at night... So maybe it might show the thinning a bit more.

I think I'm at about a Norwood 2, with the hairline regrowing a bit after some serious shedding.

This is what my hair looked like a few days ago.

I buzzed it so that I could have some mental peace from the shedding that I'm having right now.

I'm looking forward to the next 12 months of treatment, where I can "hopefully" reach optimal haircount levels.

Damn, you have quite a mop in that one. I would never, I mean never suspect you were losing hair. Quite the opposite.

Thanks man,
what does your avatar mean?

Gardener,
thanks. When my hair grows out a bit, my crown looks remarkable... There's a swirl there, but no obvious bald spot... I hope it's just the style that's making it look a bit thinner.

College Chem,

thanks for your opinion. There's no way in hell I'm going to let a hair transplant surgeon touch or even look at my head for a long time. I think I'm starting to come to terms with my baldness. I think I'd rather let my meds run their course and try everything in my power before I talk to Dr. Armani or H&W.

My hairline is a bit high on my forhead, but it's always been that way. I'm not too concerned with it.

Going@20,
thanks my friend, I'm really hoping for the best. This is the worst I've seen my hair, but it's with flash, wet, and a #2 buzzcut, so I don't think it's that bad in person.

yeah, I wish I had started my treatment as soon as you did. All those Nisism and avocore scams did not help.

It's a famous little piece of Texas history. The "Come and Take It" flag was flown in 1835 at Gonzales, TX when Santa Anna ordered the disarmament of "Texians." Specifically, he wanted a cannon seized. It goes without saying that the colonists did not accommodate. The wives of the colonists sewed the flag to taunt/mock the Mexican forces, who eventually retreated once they were met with significant resistance. This little skirmish was the beginning of the Texas Revolution.

I didn't tell it too well, but it's a neat (and amusing) story.

You told it well.

Thanks Hairwegoagain. You've been a big brother for a lot of us here, myself included.

I'm finally legal tonight at 12:00, so I'm going to sport my new buzzcut at the bars and clubs with my gf.

Goodnight guys

Hey, congratulations Aplunk!!

Remember the Alamo!!!

Thanks Gardener,

I had a blast last night, although I was a bit too drunk. I'm going to tone it down tonight so I can have a better time with my lady.

We spent most of the evening at the Paris.

IBM,
the first photo is the most current. I took it two days ago, when I first got my buzzcut. It really short hair, wet, and with flash on.

The second photo was taken about a week ago.

For starters you're definately not nw3 but the amout of loss you have really cant be gauged by one picture... Pictures are very decieving... in one pic your hair can look great in the next it can look like crap..

Post up some pics from a bunch of different angles to give us a real idea of where you sit.

I turned 23 in may. I noticed loss around your age. I believe stressing out about my loss has caused me more loss than before. I got on propecia right away and now I kinda wish I didnt. Now it seems I lose alot more hair than before.. You need to be young while you're young and enjoy your life otherwise you'll end up depressed all the time.. If you look good rocking the shaved look you're set..

Aplunk, your hair looks fine, I have an Norwood 2 hairline and I wish I had your hair. You look like you don't even have any loss.

Here ya go...

7/9/06 - 7 months into Avodart treatment. Just recently buzzed hair very short... This is at a #2, which is less than 1cm, I believe.

Comparing it to the last time I shaved it this short... several months ago:

(Sorry about the quality)

Seems like there's been some serious temple growth in the newer ones... yet still a lot of diffusing.

Your hair looks good, honestly. To me, it looks like no noticeable signs of balding on the crown, just some temple recession. An NW2 has the "island" in front, you're not even there. I'd say currently you're an NW1.5.

dont keep your hair wet and its 100% unnoticable. even wet it doesnt look bad.

when you take pics you should take them from the exact anlge so you can compare acurately.

Your hair looks fine if you ask me. I doubt anyone will look at you and say "omg he's going bald".. Just keep on your meds since you've started them and forget about hairloss.
