Canadians, where do you order your finasteride online?

Hello, just wondering where the Canadians on here order their finasteride from online?

Also, those Canadians who don't order online and who have a prescription from a doctor, where do you get your finasteride and how much does it cost you?

Thanks.

Been searching online, seems there's no reputable websites that will ship to Canada? Is going to a physician really my only option?

I am also searching for a reputable online pharmacy. For some reason, no one ships to Canada, and it is extremely frustrating. I think we have very strict drug laws here or something. I have only found a few online pharmacies that will ship here, and they are insanely expensive. The cheaper one was charging $115 for 30 propecia tablets.. Hair is not worth that much to me.

The cheapest local pharmacy I can find is Costco, which sells generic 30 x 1MG generic Finasteride tabs for $42. Walmart is the second cheapest, at $50 for 30 tabs. For me, considering I spend about $300 on booze every month, this isn't too bad! Just phone your local pharmacies and they will give you prices over the phone.

Costco also sells generic Proscar (5MG finasteride) 30x tabs for $25, but I am having a tough time getting a prescription for it. If you can have a doctor prescribe this to you, it is definitely the way to go.

Good luck, let me know if you find any good pharmacies that ship to Canada!

Unfortunately I don't believe we have the same Walmart generics program that you guys have down there in the states. Like everything else, us Canadians are gouged on the cost of medications. We can't even get 5% minoxidil up here without a prescription.. a 1-month supply of 2% runs for about $50.. No rogaine foam either. If you try to order it online, customs doesn't let it in the country. Talk about frustrating!

Even worse is the cost of booze.. We average $25 for a 12-pack of decent beer. Closer to $50 for a 1l bottle of liquor. Not to bad mouth the country, because it is definitely beautiful.. But the cost of living up here is absoutely rediculous.

Starting to seem like ordering online isn't a viable option.

I asked my family doctor for a prescription for finasteride and he refused because of his unfamiliarity with the drug. I then looked into seeing a dermatologist; the local one had an 11 month wait, so I decided to make an appointment with one in Halifax (an hour from where I live), and the earliest I was able to make an appointment was May.

How are walk-in clinics when it comes to asking for prescriptions? Seems I just need to find a doctor who is familiar with the drug.

Thats a strange excuse from your doctor.. Was he/she older? I think some older doctors dont keep up as much with newer meds.

You shouldn't have any problems getting a prescription through a walk-in clinic. I've received several prescriptions in the past from walk-in clinics. If one won't give you a prescription, then try another.

I actually just found an online pharmacy that appears to ship to Canada. They also have some good prices on generic finasteride - $189 for 300 tablets. I haven't done much research to see if they are legit, but they ship out of Vancouver so they are an actual Canadian pharmacy at least. They ship via canada post so you won't need to worry about customs or anything:

*EDIT*

I also found another one, www.progressiverx.com that appears to ship to Canada. I have emailed both to confirm, and I will let you know.

I received a response from a rep at Progressiverx:

Hi,

Thanks for the email. You can send us the copy of your prescription from a Canadian Physician and place an order on our website. We will be able to ship to a Canadian address. If you have any other questions, we will be happy to answer them.

Thanks again,

Vimala

Looks good. There are lots of positive reviews about this site and I think it's pretty legit.. The fact that they require a prescription is a good sign that they are legitimate. They sell generic Finasteride 1MG tabs manufactured in India. I'm not sure if they ship direct from India or not, but I think I might give it a try on a small amount (30 tabs) to see if there are any problems.

I also just learned that the patent on Finasteride is no longer legitimate in Canada, unlike the expiry date of 2013 in the US. I was wondering why the local pharmacies carried generic 1MG finasteride! I would phone around locally to see what the prices are. Chances are Costco will be the cheapest, but $40 a month is not bad at all. I used to pay over $100 a month for anti-anxiety medications that barely did anything... and that was for a couple years.

There is a possibility. Canada has extremely strict drug importation laws, but it all depends on what you put on the customs declaration. If you put 'medication' on it, there is a chance that it could be sent back to the shipper, as i'm not sure what the restrictions are. Also, if the person shipping fills out a false declaration, there is a chance he/she could be charged, since it's illegal to do that.

I would take a close look at the Canadian customs laws for the importation of drugs so that you can find out how much you can send and how to properly declare it.

Yet another post by me.. I went to a walk-in clinic today and got a prescription for 5MG Finasteride. The Doctor just gave me 10 pills (which will last 40 days, split into quarters) and he said he will give me a years worth (100 pills) after a month with no negative side effects. At Walmart, 10 pills of generic 5MG finasteride is $20, so a years worth of medication is $180. I have no problem playing that. Hell, I was prepared to pay over $500 for this stuff.

The Doctor didn't even really know what Propecia/Finasteride was (he had to look it up in a little book). He said it was in a class of drug that was generally well tolerated, and I told him there is a 5MG version available.. He just gave me the script with no more questions.

I actually did my best to check for any sort of laws on declaring drugs(medical of course...) and I couldn't find a single thing. Also, when my friend's mom ships stuff I doubt she declares anything, she just ships a package for her son at school. I think I'm safe haha.

Yes, this is so frustrating, I use to live in the US and I was able to get fincar pretty easy, since I've moved back to Canada it's been hell.

I usually have no problem getting Rogaine Foam, but it costs a boat load to ship up here (sometimes almost as much as a one month's supply).

I found one company that shipped up here but it got held up in customs. I have now resorted to having it sent to my friend in the US who sends it up here for me.

And that works well I'm guessing? It's relieving to hear. Yay! I'm getting my hair back haha.

I'm wondering if there's any kind soul willing in the to purchase and send finasteride for me. I have no means of getting it in Canada, since my doctor won't prescribe it for me.

I wouldn't recommend doing this. You might get enough to last you a couple months, but no one here is going to be a reliable enough source to keep sending you the stuff for the next 10 years.

Find a different doctor, or keep going to clinics until you find someone that will prescribe it to you. Clinics are free and bountiful in Canada, so keep trying. I got a prescription for Proscar my first time going to a clinic. No reason they shouldn't give it to you, unless you are under 18.

Makes me glad to be an american. When the laws down here get kind of ridiculous, and I think of leaving, I always learn that other countries are far worse.

How free is Australia?
