Can You Use Tape On A Poly Skin System?

Hi guys

Can you use tape on a poly skin system?
I know it’s recommend not to do this due to how thin the skin is but has anyone actually tried it, or tried using tape at the back and glue at the front?

There are two issues. One is the fact that the fine grade skin systems are very easily torn, so it is hard to get strong tac hairpiece tape off them without tearing them. The other is that skin systems make a plastic bag noise when you touch the base, unless the base is completely glued down over your whole scalp, so people who wear these tend to use an all-scalp glue bond.

If you are keen to have a thinskin base but you plan to tape it at the back and sides (glue at the hairline) I would suggest you order the piece with a thicker poly horseshoe around the back and sides perimeter. Then you put the tape on that. But be aware you will still get the plastic bag noise.
