I am looking into dozens of potent anti androgens that were never marketed and it’s crazy how many of these are great candidates for male pattern baldness but are just forgotten about

Compounds with a short half life-dropped
Compounds that don’t block mutant AR-dropped
Compounds that display the slightest hint of partial agonism of the AR- dropped

I’ve seen so many good candidates with a much higher affinity for the AR than Daro or Enza dropped just because they have 1 of those mentioned characteristics

LiterallyNO ONE gives af about male pattern baldness. If it wasn’t for prostrate cancer there would be only 3-4 anti androgens and all of them would suck

It does seem quite odd to me that Cassiopea would pursue an AA like clascoterone over the other prospects, maybe they think they'd have a better chance acquiring a license with a weaker AA.

Thats defintly the case! CB is soo weak and an all around terrible anti androgen, there are litterally hundreds of better candidates for a drug to be marketed.

I'm just waiting for setipiprant study results...maybe cotsarelis and company will let us see study results within the next 3 years....yes I know Seti is not an antiandrogen.

MAYBE (just maybe eh) they chose it because it has basically 0 side effects while all the others AA could cause sides, even serious ones.

You are talking without understand the most important things. If the drug go systemic in a high concentration, it will give side effects.
Not even talking about using it orally .

Yes. Lots of drugs would have worked great for male pattern baldness which is why its a little amazing we still have nothing. ASCJ 09 was like CB and we talked about that in like 2012.
I think the lackluster sales of propecia have really slowed male pattern baldness treatments, and male pattern baldness is also just an expensive disease to study because of slow it is to get test results. Its cosmetic too which also lowers it. I mean we put how many billions into cancer? Not even remotely good treatments for that yet either.
Maybe we need to accept medicine sucks at understanding the biology.

After Rogaine & Propecia the industry concluded that there is no money in this market. At least not until something can regrow (not just prevent) whole Norwood levels of loss.

Unfortunately they are correct. No matter how much we enthusiasts care about it, the vast majority of men don't. They don't think about it until they have lost enough that it's already a problem. They aren't enthusiastic about starting a decades-long effort just to slow down (not even stop) the ongoing loss.

The bullshit side effects situation with Finasteride didn't help. Merck presented it as a virtually side-effect-free drug, so that's what the companies think it is. Why should they try to market a topical like RU 58841 when they already have a pill that works just as well? We know it has a significant side effect problem for many of its users but they don't.

(I won't debate this. I've studied the original Merck research on the drug. They didn't find a side effect problem because they didn't want to find it. Indirect evidence was there and they didn't pursue it.)

Hopefully the poor sales of Rogaine & Propecia, make companies develop effective "cures".

I'm just hoping Tsuji is the real thing...! :)

I dont blame Merck for this though. You will never find every side effect or issue in a small study before it goes into huge wide spread use for years. I think they honestly just didnt find some of the sides in the people they studied or the percentages in much larger samples turned out different. Medicine and the whole way it works just isnt that scientific. Try something and see what happens is the best we have.
I dont think merck always knew of every side, and just decided to cover it up or skew the study to make it more positive like it was side free. I think its just the downside of how medicine for drugs works.
I doubt we will have a drug that regrows norwoods anytime soon. male pattern baldness is a tough nut to crack

Also having known about propecia for 10 years, and never even trying it I can understand why most men dont bother. Have I lost hair? Yes. Is it getting noticeable now? Yes, but I still in a way am glad I never used propecia. I have no sides, and I saved a lot of hassle/money getting refills and seeing doctors. Maybe as you get older it just gets easier to accept.
You take propecia to probably keep losing hair or going bald later after it loses effectiveness anyway! What was the point then?

I feel the distrust of big pharma is a mute argument here, there have been plenty of post license independent studies that have correlated closely to the Merck sponsored FDA trial results.

Don't forget that CB cannot go systemic. So when if you submerge yourself in that stuff every morning you won't get sides, unlike Ru ect.
That means even if you take an upper limit of possible solubility and price into account, you will be able to wildly overdose this stuff.
More importantly people will use it just in case.
I'm actually looking forward to using 3ml of 10% of this stuff twice a day.
But I'm too not convinced that it will be strong enough. Dht is so much more powerful.

Yeah, it's really a case of the companies fooling themselves. Ppl won't have sides so they can't possibly in any case be wary (or f*****g scared) of the drug, so they are obviously just not interested. Meanwhile billion dollar hairtransplant industry.

That said as soon as pfs rumors came up they started research on cb0301, just lab to market takes forever. Plus even the industry believed in haircloning being here latest since 2015.

The results show that 7.5% of CB twice a day is superior to Propecia in growing hair. It is still a good alternative to Propecia. Perhaps this and a PG2D antagonist will be enough. Or some may opt to take low dose Finasteride+CB.

Merck Lawsuits and Settlements

Patients injured by Merck’s drugs and vaccines have filed thousands of lawsuits against the Big Pharma company. The drug maker has paid out billions of dollars in damages to patients and their families as a result.

Fosamax
xfosamax-pills-3-352x0-c-default.png.pagespeed.ic.9HRec5ZC5a.png

Merck paid millions in settlements and jury verdicts to thousands of people who say Fosamax caused their injuries. Multidistrict litigation (MDL) in New York over Dead Jaw Syndrome has mostly resolved. A second MDL in New Jersey for bone fractures involved more than 560 lawsuits as of May 2018. More Fosamax lawsuits are pending in multicounty litigation (MCL) and state courts.

Januvia
xjanuvia-221-pills.png.pagespeed.ic.eD5gaJ0lDH.png

Studies link Januvia to pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and severe joint pain. According to lawsuits, some former Januvia users died after using the drug. A judge dismissed Januvia lawsuits in 2015. But as of 2018, an appeals court reinstated hundreds of pancreatic cancer lawsuits.

NuvaRing
xnuvar-ring-silver-small.png.pagespeed.ic.DQh1O0Hdjr.png

Organon, a subsidiary of Merck, manufactures NuvaRing, a birth control ring associated with life-threatening blood clots. Because of the possible side effects, the FDA released a drug safety communication in October 2011. People filed more than a thousand federal NuvaRing lawsuits. The company settled almost all of them for $100 million in 2014.

Propecia
xpropecia-orange-pills.png.pagespeed.ic.ifHaxutO7I.png

Merck changed Propecia’s label in 2011 to warn of the possibility of cancer and sexual side effects. It warned side effects may continue even after stopping treatment. As of May 2018, about 900 Propecia lawsuits remained pending in federal court in New York.

MMR Vaccine
Lawsuits allege Merck did not properly test its MMR vaccine. They say the company falsified data. Two of Merck’s former scientists were among those who brought the claims.

Gardasil (HPV) Vaccine
Hundreds of people who say they were injured by an HPV vaccine have filed claims with the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). In April 2018, a U.S. court determined Merck’s Gardasil vaccine led to the death of a 21-year-old woman.

900 lawsuits out of a couple million men using it yearly is still only .04 percent of men. Id still take those odds at any casino. Also what possibility of cancer? Breast cancer? Again there are like 2 or 3 good studies on propecia just look at the stats no point going over it again. Its almost statistically not different than placebo very very tiny.

You have data of the finasteride sales? And do you really think that ALL men that get scewed up by finasteride immediately sue them? I got fucked by finasteride bad time and I happen to know another guy recently that had almost a similar experience. We have both not sued Merck.
