Can increasing finasteride from 1mg/day to 2mg/day provide any better results?

I've been on finasteride 1mg/day for more than 26 months now and it's unable to stop or slow my hair loss. I'm thinking of starting 2mg/day. Is it worth it?

There's really no use in going above 1.25mg. That's about the limit of what it's capable of for our purposes. Suggest you start looking into Dutasteride.

2.5 mg daily of finasteride sometimes can help better according to surgeons. In your case I think jump on dutasteride, doesn't seem likely finasteride will help. Minoxidil too.

I have heard the same thing as Wolf Pack. I wish there was some before and after cases of where increasing finasteride made a significant difference. I added one dutateride per week and took finasteride the other six days and I can conclude after one year, it made no difference. As a matter of fact, I got worse on it. I know some people back in the day reported they noticed more loss at the hair line on dutasteride than finasteride. I am just going to stick with finasteride for now. I am dropping dutasteride. I have been using minoxidil every other day for about 5 weeks or more and my hair is looking the worse it has in a long time. I don't know why I just can't stay away from minoxidil for good but when I see most success stories involve using minoxidil, it makes the temptation to use it so hard to resist.

I have seen credible pictures on surgeon web links in the past. Plus if the surgeon said it helped, I believe them. They double check with a densitometer for objectiveness. I think people can get to certain point with their hair loss where no matter how much DHT you block, that particular area will still struggle. So it doesn't matter if one is on finasteride/dutasteride in that circumstance. It's good you tried though because the switch can make a difference in some people. You could also be shedding since you restarted Minoxidil, plus it sounds like you cycle on/off it which is not a good thing.
