Re: Boulder25Male's Story - (10.5 month update on page 4)

So finasteride only did nothing much but slow the loss down, on one side only....so I am starting rogaine this Friday and getting back on nizoral 1%, which i stopped a few months ago.

Re: Boulder25Male's Story - (10.5 month update on page 4)

1 year update: before/after

Conclusion: finasteride alone not enough

Next Step: Introduce Rogaine(first on right side where it is the thinnest) and nizoral (since i notice that when i have dandruff is when the hair falls out most)

Different lighting in the pictures...also take a look at the natural light picture in my first post on this thread.

.....

Any suggestions on what to expect with Rogaine? Lots of shed? Any growth? How long is the shed/growth cycle?

So it has been a while. I stopped finasteride in August of 2011 after reading a lot of negative comments from users and health effects. I was feeling a bit sluggish.

I have been doing Rogaine since July 2011 and it has been a year and here is what I found:

1. It greatly slows the thinning process.
2. It does very little to nothing in terms of regrowing hair.
3. It does nothing for frontal difuse thinning.

All in all...if you use the big 3 and your daily vitamins...and do a lot of cardio, you will greatly slow your hairloss....but hairloss is inevitable...you have the following optoins:

1. Surgery
2. Plugs
3. Wig

----
So here is my most recent update...it is dark but trust me...the frontal portion is very thin in daylight...I used to be able to flip up the front but no longer can because it looks extremely thin/bald. Plus this has dry rogaine on it so it makes the hair look much thicker.

Dude what are you talking about? You say that meds don't work, but you first posted here 2 years ago, and your hair looks the same or even better than 2 years ago.

It's obvious to me that meds have worked (judging from these photos). After 2 years you should be in much worse situation.

I'm taking those photos via my phone so it is more difficult to tell. But the very front has thinned out greatly. I can no longer flip the front of my hair out because you can count and visibly see the follicles on the front of my hairline. The top still seems very good.

The meds have greatly slowed the loss but have not stopped it nor reversed it.

You can't say that the meds slowed it down, because my balding was crazy for 2 years, then stopped for a while.
Currently on finasteride

Here are two pictures from an actual camera. This is after a haircut. The front hairline was more defined a few years ago, now it is very diffuse. finasteride and Rogaine together with Nizorol worked well but each individually is not really enough. I could not continue finasteride bcz I was worried about the side effects after a year.

Attached are updates. Will start Nizoral 1% again after 6 months off.

Currently only doing rogaine 1.5 per day on average over the course of a week.

The top of the head seems strong however, the front hairline is almost gone and it seems to be spreading backwards up the temple sides.
