Worst hair surgery company in the world . It's that simple.
Strange that you start doing research AFTER it's been booked.

The opinions posted above are not just two random people who think Bosley is terrible, it's pretty much a consensus. I've never read anything by any third party saying anything positive about Bosley's doctors. Do your brother a favor and do some research. Search around on Hairlosshelp.com 's hair transplant sections, you can find excellent doctors as well as some pretty lowsy ones (ei. Bosley).

Yah it isn't just a few people that think Bosley is bad.... almost everyone here that knows about them thinks they are horrible.

1. they cost way too much
2. they do a horrible job
3. they don't necessarily use the latest techniques
4. sketchy sales tactics and lying to patients

- do yourself a favor and cancel on Bosley... no matter whether your bro put down money or not... you will be paying them to butcher you.

these are the names of the world's BEST doctors: (in no particular order)

Feller: http://www.fellermedical.com
Hassan & Wong: http://www.hassonandwong.com
Armani: http://www.alviarmani.com
Cole: http://www.forhair.com

hair transplant is something that is a BIG decision to make... and I wouldn't take the decision lightly... if you are going to do it then make sure you go to a great surgeon... this is what really determines the outcome.

PM for more info...

IMO there are many, MUCH better choices with proven independent surgeons then the big chains like Bosley and MHR. If you have not read some of Mahair's posts on the big chains, certainly do so. Or simply do a key word search on Bosley and MHR in any of the major forums and then make sure you are sitting down when you read all of the posts! :freaked2:

Ron Shapiro is the best

Dr. Ron Shapiro is based in Minnesota and never advertises on forums because he doesn't need to! A few hair transplant surgeons have had him do their own transplants! He just got some prestigious award at an hair transplant surgeons conference in Australia (I think it was called the Golden Follicle award).

If I was convinced that a strip hair transplant was the right way to go, he would be numero uno without a moments hesitation.

How many grafts did the 4 day post-op patient have? Plan on 7-10 days for the recipient area scabs to come off. Some may come off earlier, some later. Also consider using a good post-op healing product like Graftcyte which is enriched with copper-peptide.

The lingering redness can vary patient-to-patient due to differneces in how patients heal, their collagen, etc. Just because one individual's redness dissipates quickly does not mean yours will. Don't get me wrong though, I truly hope yours heals as fast as the pics you are viewing. These types of things are very difficult to predict pre-operatively.

from what i understand, they like to mislead people. they use people who really don't have hairloss in their brochures for the "after' pictures. the before ones are computer altered to show a hairloss condition. really scumbags if you ask me. i seen some people who were really butchered from these scumbags. all i can say is: CAVEAT EMPTOR!

YES!!! I started the thread after my brother made appt w. Bosley. Responses were so uniformly adverse that he cancelled & contacted credit card co. to make sure deposit charge was cancelled. He is now set for Dr Alvi Armani in Toronto, early next month.

Yo SteveHalp... the choice of Armani is great... I just got 3295 in zone 1 and 2 from him and am quite excited about this upcoming year. If you need any advice please PM me and I can send you my phone number/email etc... if you want any advice for your bro.

A few pointers for him though:
I would try to stay at the Westin ... its convenient... I would also make sure you get a C neck pillow (w/o it sleeping is really tough)

You will be in pain for 24 hrs post op pretty badly but after that it is a LOT better. You will most likely vomit after surgery so definitely take their antiemetic and pain meds and don't eat anything that may come back up and be corrosive on your esophagus ie: pasta sauce, lots of cola...

Dr. Armani makes the whole thing easy... you are knocked out half the time and the other half you watch movies... he is a good guy and my Mom and I really enjoyed chatting w/him. Let me know if I can be of any help and best of luck w/everything.
