I buzz my bio hair on the sides and back with a 3 guard. What is the best way to blend the piece?

If you are buzzing your hair, you will need to go for an undercut style like this, at least initially. These are just screencaps off the Internet.

It's a fade... looks like they started with 1/2, and worked their way up to a 1 and 1/2".

I always have at least 3 pieces not even cut yet...wonder if I could get away with a fade and just put one of my new pieces on over it..hmmm that IS kinda sloppy though
