Best food for hair growth

What are some of the best foods for hair growth? I understand that diet has nothing to do with male pattern baldness but I figure if I AM going to start treatment with finasteride, dutasteride, min, and all that great stuff, I might as well give my hair the proper vitamins to stimulate growth. I figure any amount of help will be beneficial. When I start my treatment for the first year of treatment I want to avoid drugs and alcoohlol, processed foods or anything that promotes bad health, and stick to a mainly natural diet with emphasize on foods shown to help with skin, hair, and nails.

Low carb.. Basically you have to stimulate igf-1 but without the presence of (or rather low) insulin. IGF-1 correlates with biotin (or simply wait for Follicept).

To be honest I think living an overall healthier lifestyle will help so what you wrote in your post is enough - no need to focus on a particular food.

As an aside, I lost over 2 stone in the year I started treatment as I thought it important to keep my body healthy whilst taking these meds. However, I still drink alcohol now and then and also eat out etc, it's just moderated.

On topic:- Try adding soy flavones and those foods rich in capsicum. These things increase healthy estrogens with IGF-1 at the dermal pappilae itself and dont have any high rate of side effects.

For follicept:- Their was a study on patients who saw improvement on finasteride and ALL of them had increased IGF-1 at their hair follicles.
So yeah, if their is a product that sends the IGF-1 directly to the dermal pappilae then it will help for hair regrowth and also block effects of testosterone.

@psyhotria
Whats the relationship between biotin and IGF-1??

Seriously I have even stopped cutting my finasteride 5 mg on lazy days. I just take a bite, sip down some tea and carry on eating my cereal. Never miss a dose though.

Lol. I figure it all evens out in the end the way the drug works. Still can see all these "dots" over my Norwood 2 area since 2 months, getting a little more prominent but nothing more. Those closer to the hairline are going/have gone terminal.

I reckon at the 12 month mark it's hair transplant time or Minoxidil at least. Going to the casino with my friends a few days ago only served to remind that I need a hairline badly.

I can cover it up with a comb over but I am still annoyed. I'm sure people on here have more serious issues though...

If you are losing hair then you have the right to be frustrated/annoyed just like the rest of us. Some make it seem like if you haven't hit NW5 you have no right to complain.

egg, milk , olive oil ,coconot oil ,fish oil ,red meat..and more more more ,all will help growing your hair..BUT

only at non bald area ...bald area will not affected that much:shakehead: ...i saw very skinny people hunger for months but still have a full head of hair ...dht will not allow our follicles to eat enough food to grow our hair:sobbing:.
