Been Lurking Online For Over 10 Years. Now I Ask For Your Advice.... Fue And The Big 3

Hello All

I have been an outsider for over 10 years (perhaps not on this forum but over a few of them) and during that time I have gradually lost my hair. I probably spent about 1.5 years on propecia during that time, but stopped due to not being able to afford ( was a student, lived in London and became a father)

I am probably a Norwood 3.5, with painfully pale skin and very dark hair, so the rift in the middle look terrible! My crown has remained very thick and healthy


I have recently come into some money, and I am looking at FUE. I have started the big 3 with the intention of keeping them up.

I am looking at Feriduni ( he has stated I need at least 3000 grafts) and I have an appointment with the Farjo clinic in London this month.

How many grafts do you think I need? I would also like to wear my fringe down or to the side, why are most hair transplants in a quiffe ?

To me personally, you need about 3000-3500 grafts. You have a little bit less hair at the front than me and I'm getting a 2700 Grafts transplant. Your hair looks thick and you said in the crown is fine as well. It looks like you could get a very good result with a good clinic.

I'm very lucky that I live 30min away from a very good one in Switzerland (hattingen hair). Just decide to pay more if you have the money and go to a decent one. Better pay 3-4k more for a good one. My surgeon has 30% patients that went to turkey to make fast and cheap (and high grafts numbers) transplant and now they have to fix it (painful and very expensive). Good luck and if you decide to do it, some pictures after pls.

I have finally booked my transplant with ASMED .

What is interesting is that they have quoted me 4500 grafts, which is 50% higher that another well respected surgeon. I assume this is due to the confidence the surgeon has in high density transplantation and dense packing in the hairline?

Booked for September.

That seems right for your situation. He does tend to overshoot some but that's to ensure you have good density.

With the hair line you will need a lot of single grafts to give a natural hairline so he may well be putting 1500 single grafts to create the hairline and the rest in 2-3 graft will create density behind the hairline.
